安平在林锡田眼中可以如此迷人，除了无法割舍的爱乡情怀之外，也跟家学渊源有关。父
亲林勇不但是安平第一任民选区长，更是以文字记载安平历史的先驱。其所著的‘台湾城
怀古集’和‘台湾城怀古续集’二书，巨细靡遗地记录安平自荷兰、明郑时期以来的沧海
桑田与人事变迁，是研究安平近代史的学者必读的钜作。林锡田继承父亲研究文史的严谨
态度与审慎思维，不仅致力于蒐集汇整安平在地民俗文化的史料与典籍，也积极推广社区
营造与生态产业的发展。

In Hsi-Tien Lin's eyes, Anping is so fascinating, not only because of the
inseparable love for his hometown, but also because of the profound influence
of his scholarly family. His father, Yong Lin, is not just the first elected
mayor in Anping, but also the pioneer to write down the history of Anping. In
both of his literary works, 台湾城怀古集 and 台湾城怀古续集, he kept very
detailed record of the change throughout the Dutch colonial period and Ming
dynasty. These two books are the must-read masterpiece which the scholars
research the contemporary history of Anping. Hsi-Tien Lin inherited his father's
spirit of careful attitude and critical thinking. He was not only
committed to collecting and compiling the historical materials and books of
the local folk culture, but also actively promoting the development of
community building and ecological industries.
