我觉得原本答案应该是：
Where was the place where you picked up the wallet? just near the
school gate
我这个答案是因为where was the place已经是一个完整的疑问句
而后面的where 则是关系副词，来连结 you picked up the wallet这个子句
来修饰the place
如果原po写的答案B就很奇怪...that是关系代名词，但是代替的是什么？根本找不到...

我觉得应该是

同样道理，where 也是关系副词，来连结this kind of car is made这个子句
如果用that，一样会有关系代名词，但是不知道代替什么问题...
