“天国又如一个要远行的人，
将自己的仆人叫来，把财产托付给他们：
按照他们的才能，
一个给了五个‘塔冷通’，
一个给了两个，
一个给了一个；
然后动身走了。
那领了五个‘塔冷通’的，立刻去用来营业，另外赚了五个。
同样，那领了两个的，也赚了另外两个。
但是，那领了一个的，却去掘开地，把主人的银子藏了。
过了多时，仆人的主人回来了，便与他们算账。
那领了五个‘塔冷通’的上前来，呈上另外五个‘塔冷通’说：
主啊！你曾交给我五个‘塔冷通’，看，我赚了另外五个‘塔冷通’。
主人对他说：
好！善良忠信的仆人，
你既在少许事上忠信，我必委派你管理许多大事：
进入你主人的福乐罢！
那领了两个‘塔冷通’的也前来说：
主啊！你曾交给我两个“塔冷通”，看，我赚了另外两个‘塔冷通’。
主人对他说：
好！善良忠信的仆人！
你既在少许事上忠信，我必委派你管理许多大事：
进入你主人的福乐罢！
随后，那领了一个‘塔冷通’的也前来说：
主啊！我原知道你是个刻薄的人，
在你没有下种的地方收割，在你没有散布的地方聚敛。
因为我害怕，所以我去把你的‘塔冷通’藏在地下；看，你的仍还给你。
主人回答说：
可恶懒惰的仆人！
你既知道：我在没有下种的地方收割，在没有散布的地方聚敛；
那么，你就该把我的银子，交给钱庄里的人，待我回来时，把我连本带利取回。
所以，你们把这个‘塔冷通’从他手中夺过来，给那有了十个‘塔冷通’的，
因为凡是有的，还要给他，叫他富裕；
那没有的，连他所有的，也要由他手中夺去。
至于这无用的仆人，你们把他丢在外面的黑暗中，在那里必有哀号和切齿。”
Gospel MT 25:14-30
Jesus told his disciples this parable:
"A man going on a journey
called in his servants and entrusted his possessions to them.
To one he gave five talents; to another, two; to a third, one–
to each according to his ability.
Then he went away.
Immediately the one who received five talents went and traded with them,
and made another five.
Likewise, the one who received two made another two.
But the man who received one went off and dug a hole in the ground
and buried his master's money.
After a long time
the master of those servants came back and settled accounts with them.
The one who had received five talents
came forward bringing the additional five.
He said,
'Master, you gave me five talents.
See, I have made five more.'
His master said to him,
'Well done, my good and faithful servant.
Since you were faithful in small matters,
I will give you great responsibilities.
Come, share your master's joy.'
Then the one who had received two talents also came forward and said,
'Master, you gave me two talents.
See, I have made two more.'
His master said to him,
'Well done, my good and faithful servant.
Since you were faithful in small matters,
I will give you great responsibilities.
Come, share your master's joy.'
Then the one who had received the one talent came forward and said,
'Master, I knew you were a demanding person,
harvesting where you did not plant
and gathering where you did not scatter;
so out of fear I went off and buried your talent in the ground.
Here it is back.'
His master said to him in reply,
'You wicked, lazy servant!
So you knew that I harvest where I did not plant
and gather where I did not scatter?
Should you not then have put my money in the bank
so that I could have got it back with interest on my return?
Now then! Take the talent from him and give it to the one with ten.
For to everyone who has,
more will be given and he will grow rich;
but from the one who has not,
even what he has will be taken away.
And throw this useless servant into the darkness outside,
where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.'"

（そのとき、イエスは弟子たちにこのたとえを语られた。）
“天の国はまた次のようにたとえられる。
ある人が旅行に出かけるとき、仆たちを呼んで、自分の财产を预けた。
それぞれの力に応じて、
一人には五タラントン、一人には二タラントン、
もう一人には一タラントンを预けて旅に出かけた。
早速、五タラントン预かった者は出て行き、
それで商売をして、ほかに五タラントンをもうけた。
同じように、二タラントン预かった者も、
ほかに二タラントンをもうけた。
しかし、一タラントン预かった者は、
出て行って穴を掘り、主人の金を隠しておいた。
さて、かなり日がたってから、
仆たちの主人が帰って来て、彼らと清算を始めた。
まず、五タラントン预かった者が进み出て、
ほかの五タラントンを差し出して言った。
‘御主人様、五タラントンお预けになりましたが、御覧ください。
ほかに五タラントンもうけました。’
主人は言った。
‘忠実な良い仆だ。よくやった。
お前は少しのものに忠実であったから、
多くのものを管理させよう。
主人と一绪に喜んでくれ。’
次に、二タラントン预かった者も进み出て言った。
‘御主人様、二タラントンお预けになりましたが、御覧ください。
ほかに二タラントンもうけました。’
主人は言った。
‘忠実な良い仆だ。よくやった。
お前は少しのものに忠実であったから、
多くのものを管理させよう。
主人と一绪に喜んでくれ。’
ところで、一タラントン预かった者も进み出て言った。
‘御主人様、あなたは莳かない所から刈り取り、
散らさない所からかき集められる厳しい方だと知っていましたので、
恐ろしくなり、出かけて行って、
あなたのタラントンを地の中に隠しておきました。御覧ください。
これがあなたのお金です。’
主人は答えた。
‘怠け者の悪い仆だ。
わたしが莳かない所から刈り取り、
散らさない所からかき集めることを知っていたのか。
それなら、わたしの金を银行に入れておくべきであった。
そうしておけば、帰って来たとき、
利息付きで返してもらえたのに。
さあ、そのタラントンをこの男から取り上げて、
十タラントン持っている者に与えよ。
だれでも持っている人は更に与えられて豊かになるが、
持っていない人は持っているものまでも取り上げられる。
この役に立たない仆を外の暗闇に追い出せ。
そこで泣きわめいて歯ぎしりするだろう。’”
