8月29日 圣若翰蒙难
福音：谷六17-29
黑落德为了他兄弟斐理伯的妻子黑落狄雅的缘故，因为他娶了她为妻，
曾遣人逮捕了若翰，把他押在监里；
因为若翰曾给黑落德说：“你不可占有你兄弟的妻子。”
黑落狄雅便怀恨他，愿意杀害他，只是不能，
因为黑落德敬畏若翰，知道他是一个正义圣洁的人，曾保全了他；
几时听他讲道，就甚觉困惑，但仍乐意听他。
好机会的日子到了：
当黑落德在自己的生日上，为自己的重要官员、军官和加里肋亚的显要，
设了筵席的时候，那个黑落狄雅的女儿便进来跳舞，获得了黑落德和同席人的欢心。
王便对女孩子说：
“你要什么，向我求罢！我必赐给你！”
又对她发誓说：
“无论你求我什么，就是我王国的一半，我也必定给你！”
她便出去问她的母亲说：
“我该求什么？”
她母亲答说：
“洗者若翰的头。”
她便立刻进去，到王面前要求说：
“我要你立刻把洗者若翰的头，放在盘子里给我！”
王遂十分忧郁；
但为了誓言和同席的人，不愿对她食言，
王遂即差遣卫兵，吩咐把若翰的头送来。
卫兵便去，在监里斩了若翰的头，
把他的头放在盘子里送来，交给了那女孩子，
那女孩子便交给了自己的母亲。
若翰的门徒听说了，就来领去了他的尸身，把他安葬在坟墓里。
Gospel MK 6:17-29
Herod was the one who had John the Baptist arrested
and bound in prisonon account of Herodias,
the wife of his brother Philip, whom he had married.
John had said to Herod,
"It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife."
Herodias harbored a grudge against him
and wanted to kill him but was unable to do so.
Herod feared John, knowing him to be a righteous and holy man,
and kept him in custody.
When he heard him speak he was very much perplexed,
yet he liked to listen to him.
She had an opportunity one day when Herod, on his birthday,
gave a banquet for his courtiers,
his military officers, and the leading men of Galilee.
Herodias' own daughter came in
and performed a dance that delighted Herod and his guests.
The king said to the girl,
"Ask of me whatever you wish and I will grant it to you."
He even swore many things to her,
"I will grant you whatever you ask of me,
even to half of my kingdom."
She went out and said to her mother,
"What shall I ask for?"
She replied,
"The head of John the Baptist."
The girl hurried back to the king's presence and made her request,
"I want you to give me at once
on a platter the head of John the Baptist."
The king was deeply distressed,
but because of his oaths and the guests
he did not wish to break his word to her.
So he promptly dispatched an executioner with orders
to bring back his head.
He went off and beheaded him in the prison.
He brought in the head on a platter and gave it to the girl.
The girl in turn gave it to her mother.
When his disciples heard about it,
they came and took his body and laid it in a tomb.
マルコによる福音书 6章17～29节
（そのとき、）
実は、ヘロデは、自分の兄弟フィリポの妻ヘロディアと结婚しており、
そのことで人をやってヨハネを捕らえさせ、牢につないでいた。
ヨハネが、
“自分の兄弟の妻と结婚することは、律法で许されていない”
とヘロデに言ったからである。
そこで、
ヘロディアはヨハネを恨み、彼を杀そうと思っていたが、できないでいた。
なぜなら、ヘロデが、ヨハネは正しい圣なる人であることを知って、
彼を恐れ、保护し、
また、その教えを闻いて非常に当惑しながらも、
なお喜んで耳を倾けていたからである。
ところが、良い机会が访れた。
ヘロデが、自分の诞生日の祝いに高官や将校、
ガリラヤの有力者などを招いて宴会を催すと、
ヘロディアの娘が入って来て踊りをおどり、
ヘロデとその客を喜ばせた。
そこで、王は少女に、
“欲しいものがあれば何でも言いなさい。お前にやろう”と言い、
更に、
“お前が愿うなら、この国の半分でもやろう”と固く誓ったのである。
少女が座を外して、母亲に、“何を愿いましょうか”と言うと、
母亲は、“洗礼者ヨハネの首を”と言った。
早速、少女は大急ぎで王のところに行き、
“今すぐに洗礼者ヨハネの首を盆に载せて、いただきとうございます”と愿った。
王は非常に心を痛めたが、
誓ったことではあるし、
また客の手前、
少女の愿いを退けたくなかった。
そこで、王は卫兵を遣わし、
ヨハネの首を持って来るようにと命じた。
卫兵は出て行き、牢の中でヨハネの首をはね、
盆に载せて持って来て少女に渡し、
少女はそれを母亲に渡した。
ヨハネの弟子たちはこのことを闻き、
やって来て、遗体を引き取り、墓に纳めた。
