“祸哉，你们经师和法利塞假善人！
因为你们捐献十分之一的薄荷、茴香和莳萝，
却放过了法律上最重要的公义、仁爱与信义；
这些固然该作，那些也不可放过。
瞎眼的向导！
你们滤出蚊蚋，却吞下了骆驼。
祸哉，你们经师和法利塞假善人！
因为你们洗擦杯盘的外面，里面却满是劫夺与贪欲。
瞎眼的法利塞人！
你先应清洁杯的里面，
好叫它外面也成为清洁的。”
Gospel MT 23:23-26
Jesus said:
"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites.
You pay tithes of mint and dill and cummin,
and have neglected the weightier things of the law:
judgment and mercy and fidelity.
But these you should have done, without neglecting the others.
Blind guides, who strain out the gnat and swallow the camel!
"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites.
You cleanse the outside of cup and dish,
but inside they are full of plunder and self-indulgence.
Blind Pharisee, cleanse first the inside of the cup,
so that the outside also may be clean."

（そのとき、イエスは言われた。）
“律法学者たちとファリサイ派の人々、
あなたたち伪善者は不幸だ。
薄荷、いのんど、茴香の十分の一は献げるが、
律法の中で最も重要な正义、慈悲、诚実はないがしろにしているからだ。
これこそ行うべきことである。
もとより、十分の一の献げ物もないがしろにしてはならないが。
ものの见えない案内人、
あなたたちはぶよ一匹さえも漉して除くが、
らくだは饮み込んでいる。
律法学者たちとファリサイ派の人々、
あなたたち伪善者は不幸だ。
杯や皿の外侧はきれいにするが、
内侧は强欲と放縦で満ちているからだ。
ものの见えないファリサイ派の人々、
まず、杯の内侧をきれいにせよ。
そうすれば、外侧もきれいになる。”
