耶稣又开口用比喻对他们说：
“天国好比一个国王，为自己的儿子办婚宴。
他打发仆人去召被请的人来赴婚宴，他们却不愿意来。
又派其他的仆人去，说：
你们对被请的人说：
看，我已经预备好了我的盛宴，
我的公牛和肥畜都宰杀了，
一切都齐备了，你们来赴婚宴罢！
他们却不理：
有的往自己的田里去了，有的作自己的生意去了；
其余的竟拿住他的仆人，凌辱后杀死了。
国王于是动了怒，派自己的军队消灭了那些杀人的凶手，焚毁了他们的城市。
然后对仆人说：
婚宴已经齐备了，但是被请的人都不配。
如今你们到各路口去，凡是你们所遇到的，都请来赴婚宴。
那些仆人就出去到大路上，凡遇到的，无论坏人好人，都召集了来，
婚宴上就满了坐席的人。
国王进来巡视坐席的客人，看见在那里有一个没有穿婚宴礼服的人，
便对他说：
朋友，你怎么到这里来，不穿婚宴礼服？那人默然无语。
国王遂对仆役说：
你们捆起他的脚和手来，把他丢在外面的黑暗中：
在那里要有哀号和切齿。
因为被召的人多，被选的人少。”
Gospel MT 22:1-14
Jesus again in reply spoke to the chief priests
and the elders of the people in parables saying,
"The Kingdom of heaven may be likened to a king
who gave a wedding feast for his son.
He dispatched his servants to summon the invited guests to the feast,
but they refused to come.
A second time he sent other servants, saying,
'Tell those invited:
"Behold, I have prepared my banquet,
my calves and fattened cattle are killed,
and everything is ready; come to the feast."'
Some ignored the invitation and went away,
one to his farm, another to his business.
The rest laid hold of his servants,
mistreated them, and killed them.
The king was enraged and sent his troops,
destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.
Then the king said to his servants,
'The feast is ready,
but those who were invited were not worthy to come.
Go out, therefore, into the main roads
and invite to the feast whomever you find.'
The servants went out into the streets
and gathered all they found, bad and good alike,
and the hall was filled with guests.
But when the king came in to meet the guests
he saw a man there not dressed in a wedding garment.
He said to him,
'My friend, how is it that you came in here without a wedding garment?'
But he was reduced to silence.
Then the king said to his attendants,
'Bind his hands and feet,
and cast him into the darkness outside,
where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.'
Many are invited, but few are chosen."
福音朗読 マタイによる福音书 22章1-14节
（そのとき、イエスは、祭司や民の长老たちに）
たとえを用いて语られた。
“天の国は、ある王が王子のために婚宴を催したのに似ている。
王は家来たちを送り、婚宴に招いておいた人々を呼ばせたが、
来ようとしなかった。
そこでまた、次のように言って、别の家来たちを使いに出した。
‘招いておいた人々にこう言いなさい。
“食事の用意が整いました。
牛や肥えた家畜を屠って、すっかり用意ができています。
さあ、婚宴においでください。”’
しかし、
人々はそれを无视し、一人は畑に、一人は商売に出かけ、
また、他の人々は王の家来たちを捕まえて乱暴し、杀してしまった。
そこで、王は怒り、军队を送って、
この人杀しどもを灭ぼし、その町を焼き払った。
そして、家来たちに言った。
‘婚宴の用意はできているが、
招いておいた人々は、ふさわしくなかった。
だから、町の大通りに出て、
见かけた者はだれでも婚宴に连れて来なさい。’
そこで、家来たちは通りに出て行き、
见かけた人は善人も悪人も皆集めて来たので、
婚宴は客でいっぱいになった。
王が客を见ようと入って来ると、
婚礼の礼服を着ていない者が一人いた。
王は、‘友よ、どうして礼服を着ないでここに入って来たのか’と言った。
この者が黙っていると、
王は侧近の者たちに言った。
‘この男の手足を缚って、外の暗闇にほうり出せ。
そこで泣きわめいて歯ぎしりするだろう。’
招かれる人は多いが、选ばれる人は少ない。”
