想请教以下句子的一些问题
More recently, Ukraine has served to push the Middle East to the inside
pages, with the carnage of Syria featuring somewhat, but the chaos of Libya,
whose Government we intervened to change, hardly meriting a mention.
问题一: "push to the inside pages" 的意思，是指乌克兰让中东问题变得更重要吗?
问题二:" with the carnage of Syria featuring somewhat, but the chaos of Libya,
whose Government we intervened to change, hardly meriting a mention."
这句看不太懂。我自己的理解是，前半部的"叙利亚的屠杀"是呼应中东问题，但后半部的
"利比亚动乱"为何又不值得一提呢? 语意上接不太起来。
