在第二册的第十三章，记载着中世纪当时关于北欧的地图与地理学记录
包含阿拉伯世界的探险家、旅行者们，对北欧的叙述。
其中，第208页记载着一位出身伊比利半岛的地理学者

"Around it are small islands where the falcons are found. To the west lies
the island of white falcons, its length from west to east is about seven days
and its breadth about four days, and from it and from the small northern
islands are obtained the white falcons, which are brought from here to the
Sultan of Egypt, who pays from his treasury 1000 dinars for them, and if the
falcon arrives dead the reward is 500 dinars. And in their country is the
white bear, which goes out into the sea and swims and catches fish, and these
falcons seize what is left over by it, or what it has let alone. And on this
they live, since there are no [other] flying creatures there on account of
the severity of the frost. The skin of these bears is soft, and it is brought
to the Egyptian lands as a gift."
在它（丹麦）的周围有许多小岛，那里可以找到“隼”。
其西方座落着“白隼之岛”（注：冰岛），由西到东的距离大约七天路程，宽度大约四
天路程，在这座岛以及它北方的许多小岛上，可以捕捉到白隼，牠们从这里被带给埃及
的苏丹，苏丹会为了牠们从他的财宝里付出 1000 第纳尔，如果这只隼在抵达时死去，
报酬则是 500 第纳尔。
在他们的国家有“白熊”，牠们会游泳出海、捕鱼，这些隼会夺取牠们的食物或是牠们
吃剩下的。牠们（隼）依此生存，由于凛冽的冰霜，那里没有其它会飞翔的动物。
白熊的毛皮柔软，被当成礼物带到埃及去。

隼属猛禽中体型最大的一种
体长可达65公分，翼展160公分，正是冰岛的国鸟。
在中世纪当时显然就已价值不斐，随着贸易被带到中东
叙述中的 1000 第纳尔（dinars）换算成现在不知道价值多少？
感想：虽然知道当时北欧人生意做很大，做到中亚去了
实际上看到相关的记录，还是觉得很有趣。
