很多文法书上写The + 形容词 后面动词要用复数
这个文法其实不尽然全对，我想这是老梗了，所以我就不多提了。
我在某文法书上看到。
The new is not always better than the old.
The rich are not always happier than the poor.
他的解释是将省略的字还原就知道应该用什么型态的动词
像是The new 变成 The new thing.
The rich 变成 The rich people.
那么请教先进，怎么The new就不能是The new things?
The rich 就不能是The rich person呢？
