推 GRE就是考这种 因为他已经讲说是迷信而且laughable代表已经不是指有争议，而是在现今科学中已经推翻的古老概念

前面banish放逐到好久以前,belief在现今是很原始的翻译大概如此,提供给您参考,所以应该不是填争议

硬要解释的话，我会这样解：填空是和superstition对映的。superstition是完全否定的字眼。primitive也是。但controversial是有争议性的。而且既是都是laughable的价值判断了，理应不会有争议了。
