2. Were it not for my mentor’s support, I would have given up.
3. Dick wouldn’t allow me to touch his new car, let alone driving it.
另请问下面两句为何正确：
1. The little boy held the blanket tightly as if freezing to death. (我以为freezing 要改成he were to be frozen to death)
2. When she heard the bad news, she couldn’t but burst into tears. (我以为要改成 she couldn’t help but burst into tears)
