used mainly before singular uncountable and plural nouns, and before pronouns.

（pronouns应该指是这个意思吧？）

你理解a lot of the play的方式错了底下母语者的回答是对的。a lot of不见得是在说有很多某某事物，也可以被用来指单一事物中的一大部分(尤其当那个对象是可以被分割的时候(按比例切，不是按数量，不然后面的verb agreement会出问题

你知道There's a lot of后面也可以接可数名词吗?比a lot of 可数开头这个我觉得更没逻辑，但大家都习惯了A lot of可以解释成sunny大说的“一大部分”，there's alot of往往就是指称复数。外国老师说大家就讲惯了
