protest 这个可以是vi & vt
意思也很多，但是今天看到几个例句让我有点搞混了
如: They protested the war.
Students have been protesting against the government's policy.
这边两个的protest都是抗议，但是一个有against，另一句则没有
请问两者的差异? 意思或意义上有什么不同?
