大家好，小弟有个疑问是:
interests 可以当成利益 或 兴趣
而
hobby 是 嗜好，或者说是休闲的兴趣
但若我想造一个句子是
"父母应该要知道孩子的兴趣"
而且我想说的并不是hobby那种的，而是像是interest这种比较general的兴趣，
于是就造出这句话
Parents should know children's interests.
可是这看起来也像是，"父母应该要知道孩子的利益"

parents should know what their children are interestedin， interest的名词型态的意思和动词/形容词的意思蛮不同的

兴趣与利益之区分加不加 s 是关健，可不可数是关健。还有复合字也看得出来 simple interest 单利 compound interest复利你拿掉 s即可。Sorry. 刚查ㄧ本字典，兴趣和我以往书些用来差异的方法不同，它也可数了。只能说文章出现在财经，或法律的上下文，就利益来翻译，其他当兴趣。
