原本也能撑过去(即使没有这些物质慰藉然而...)would have p.p 原本会... manage 设法...小小看法～有不对的地方请帮忙指出谢谢:D

yahoo dic -> manage = 设法应付过去、勉强处理

要搭配后面的"without... comforts"解比较容易了解，过去假设的概念：要是没有那些物质上的慰藉，幸存者还是可以勉强过活。
