福音：玛五33-37
那时，耶稣对门徒们说：
“你们又一向听过对古人说：‘不可发虚誓！要向上主偿还你的誓愿！’
我却对你们说：你们总不可发誓：
不可指天，因为天是天主的宝座；不可指地，因为地是他的脚凳；
不可指耶路撒冷，因为它是大王的城市；
也不可指你的头发誓，因为你不能使一根头发变白或变黑。
你们的话当是：是就说是，非就说非；
其他多余的便是出于邪恶。”
反省
耶稣今天跟门徒讨论第二诫的问题；不可发虚誓。
耶稣的标准是无论如何都不该发誓，发誓就表示可以允许非真理的存在。
耶稣是道路真理及生命，活出真理才能活出天主的肖像；
人如果允许非真理的存在也就是允许说谎者在我的生命中掌权，
即便是善意的谎言也是一样。
耶稣说不能指著天地与圣殿发誓，也不能指头发誓，
因为这一切都是天主的不是你的。
圣言一出就创造了天地，人的话也分享了这种创造力，
你不晓得你的一句谎言会延伸出什么样的恶果，那个代价也不是你能承担的。

Jesus said to his disciples:
“You have heard that it was said to your ancestors,
Do not take a false oath,
but make good to the Lord all that you vow.
But I say to you, do not swear at all;
not by heaven, for it is God’s throne;
nor by the earth, for it is his footstool;
nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
Do not swear by your head,
for you cannot make a single hair white or black.
Let your ‘Yes’ mean ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No’ mean ‘No.’
Anything more is from the Evil One.”
