Red Sox signed RHP Rick Porcello to a four-year, $82.5 million
contract extension.
The club made the announcement after their win over the Phillies
on Monday. The extension will keep Porcello, who is making $12.5
million this season, with Boston through 2019. The sinkerballer
has yet to throw a regular season pitch for the Red Sox, but
obviously the club is bullish on the 26-year-old going forward.
He'll start on Wednesday in Philadelphia.
