Dylan Bundy has been promoted to Class-A Advanced Frederick and will make his
first start on Saturday versus Salem. Bundy, the organization’s top pitching
prospect, hasn’t allowed an earned run in 30 innings for Low-A Delmarva to
start his professional career and has dominated hitters at that level.
He has allowed two unearned runs on five hits and two walks with 40
strikeouts and was expected to move up just one level, as the Orioles are
using patience in handling the 19-year-old phenom.
“What’s important are the skills he develops to become a Major League
pitcher,” executive vice president of baseball operations Dan Duquette said
of Bundy, who will stay in the 125-130 innings range in his first pro season.
