遇到Ada Brook的旧识Cornelius Eckhard III。
Ada: I thought it was you.
Cornelius: I'm afraid it's been too many years

We knew each other

请问Marian说的but在这个情镜下是作何解呢？
查了字典几乎都只把but解作转折，
但这里不似转折。
