小弟最近看一篇文章，有一段看不太懂想请教版上高手
Dolan also spoke about queer representation, specifically how social media
has helped actors and actresses come out. That's something that wasn't
mainstream when he first began writing "The Death and Life of John F.
Donovan," he pointed out. However, he added, that doesn't mean Hollywood has
changed in how it accepts them.
Although these actors are able to fully embrace their identity, Dolan said
they might not be able to pursue the same opportunities they would have if
they hadn't come out. There's still work that needs to be done, he said.
我认为这句意思是说＂如果他们不表示自己的性向就无法得到演出的机会＂
但是我在网络上有找到一篇中译文章却是说＂他们可能会因为出柜，
而失去原本拥有的演出机会＂
因为跟我的认为的意思有很大的出入所以想请教大家的看法。

想问问看，这样加括号只能靠经验吗?因为这一次真的造成理解上的困扰了;还是什么地方有一堆范例可以背的...好像用外国人的方式好像很喜欢用"同义词"这种方式

这跟加不加括号没什么关系吧，重点是后面的 they "would have" if they "hadn't come out"

加括号只是方便理解不是真的有一个括号在那 XD 因为我猜会读成原 po 那种意思括成 [they might ... would have] ，把整个看成后面 if 的主要子句至于为何不能这样我自己是觉得上下文很明显就直接判定，文法上的解释麻烦高手们了 XD

they might not be able to pursue the same opportunities.they would have the same opportunities if they hadn'nt come out. 请问我这样理解对吗?
