这两个的确很多时候可以互换啦，不过口语多用stick就可以了
adhere 比较常是东西主动黏上去

但是你去把一个东西黏到另一个东西上就用stick比较好
stick a gum on the wall - 你就不会说 adhere a gum on the wall
这个情况是 the gum adheres to the wall
比较常用A物 黏到 B物上这样 例如 The screen protector will adhere to the
surface. Just put it down lightly.
在抽象东西上面这两个也都可以用 adhere to the rules, stick to the rules
但是口语就比较会用后者
: paste: 复制贴上的"贴上"，这里应该跟上面几个比较不同，不能当"黏"这个动作?
paste也有黏的感觉啊。讲paste something其实是有涂一层黏胶之类的在表面然
后贴上去的感觉。甚至paste当名词也是糊糊的东西的意思。例如，把番茄弄成糊状
就会变成tomato paste

也算是同义 M-W 里的affix下面有 Sysnonym Discussion讨论fasten, fix, attach

但这个字你要想的是他整个家族 他是fix发展来的字 fix本身也有把一个东西固定
在另一个东西上的意思，但是他具有的涵义就是要"固定"不能动
这个家在fix前面的字首是 ad-来的，带有方向性 所以affix比fix还带有动作感
虽然算是同义，但是惯用的东西还是有不同 像是e-mail附件你就不会说affix啊
会用到affix通常听起来都是比较高级的写作就是了

你应该看得出来他跟adhere是同家族的，上面M-W的字辨就有提。adhere跟它不一样
的地方就是字首，所以就来看 ad- 和 co- 有什么不同感觉
ad- 上面就有讲到了，它是带有方向性的感觉
co- 的话是共同的意思 所以cohere的时候是有共同性的感觉 M-W里的说法就是
"suggests a sticking together of parts so that they form a unified mass"
重点就在最后，unified mass最后会变共同体
你可能会想说真的会这样分吗... 但是cohere这个家族更常用的字是它的名词
coherence/coheshion，尤其是在科学文章里面，描述的是共同的特性

但是要再重复讲一次的是，最常讲的就是put a stamp on the envelope就可

顺带一提，美国人心里有一个印象，就是glue是用马(蹄)来做的
可能古老古老的时候吧，不过他们很爱拿出来提
