福音：若十六20-23
那时，耶稣对门徒说：
“我实实在在告诉你们：
你们要痛哭，哀号，世界却要欢乐；
你们将要忧愁，但你们的忧愁却要变为喜乐。
妇女生产的时候，感到忧苦，因为她的时辰来到了；
既生了孩子，因了喜乐再不记忆那苦楚了，
因为一个人已生在世上了。
如今，你们固然感到忧愁，但我要再见到你们，
那时，你们心里要喜乐，并且你们的喜乐谁也不能从你们夺去。
到那一天，你们什么也不必问我了。
我实实在在告诉你们：
你们因我的名无论向父求什么，他必赐给你们。”
反省
基督徒中有谁不感到与世界之间的对抗和张力呢？
这种对抗和张力，常常使基督徒受苦，
难道基督徒的命运只有痛哭和忧愁吗？
不是的！反而是真实的喜乐，
要付出和受过痛苦的喜乐，就像妇女生子一样。
当我们愿意与基督一同接受现实的痛苦，便借此与祂相通，
我们所发挥的爱就像是耶稣的爱一样，
所祈求的也不再是自私的意向，因而蒙受天父应允。
即使面对困难也像耶稣一样，不会仅仅注视于失望沮丧，
却能在爱内重获信心、希望和喜乐。

Gospel JN 16:20-23
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Amen, amen, I say to you, you will weep and mourn,
while the world rejoices;
you will grieve, but your grief will become joy.
When a woman is in labor, she is in anguish because her hour has arrived;
but when she has given birth to a child,
she no longer remembers the pain because of her joy
that a child has been born into the world.
So you also are now in anguish.
But I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice,
and no one will take your joy away from you.
On that day you will not question me about anything.
Amen, amen, I say to you,
whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you.”
