Infielder Felipe Lopez will make a comeback in 2014, as he has signed
with the Brother Elephants (Chinese Professional Baseball League), a team
located in New Taipei City. According to Vivianna Velazquez of The Fish Pen,
Lopez had reached an agreement with the Bridgeport Bluefish (Independent;
Atlantic League), but was released from his contract to join the Elephants.

Primarily a shortstop, Lopez last appeared in the majors in 2011 when he hit
a combined .206/.247/.277 in 153 plate appearances between the Tampa Bay Rays
and Milwaukee Brewers. In 11 major league season the switch-hitter played on
eight different teams, and was an All-Star for the Cincinnati Reds in 2005.
His career totals include a .264/.333/.391 line with 90 home runs, 124 stolen
bases, a 91 OPS+, and a 7.5 WAR.
