根据《Batman-News》报导，在《小丑》一场早期播映后导演对一小群记者澄清了
日前《帝国杂志》所报导他对于《小丑》通通没照漫画（didn't follow anything
from the comic books）来的发言。
“这挺有趣的，因为你们之中的许多人应该都转载了那些我在《帝国杂志》
上被误引的话”。
“我并不打算抱怨，我喜欢那个作者，那篇我被误引用的文章写得很不错，关于我们没
有自漫画世界中取材的原意是，我们没有自特定漫画中取材，我们像是挑选了小丑 80 年
历史以来我们喜欢的部分，将之汲取而出。”
“I’m not gonna complain,” Phillips continued. “I like the writer; he
wrote a great piece where I said we didn’t take anything from the comic book
world. It’s actually not what I said. What I said was we didn’t take
anything from one particular comic. We kind of picked and chose what we liked
from the kind of 80-year canon of Joker. We kind of pulled a few things that
we liked.”
