试题 :
1. A huge tank on the ground is filled with water to a height H. At what depth
h below the water surface, can a small hole eject water to the maximum
distance on the ground ?
2. A thin uniform rod with mass m and length L is fixed at one end as the
pivot point. Assuming the damping effect is negligible, what's the
oscillation frequency limited in small angles for this thin rod pendulm ?
Use g to denote the gravitational acceleration.
3. A 1600 kg car carrying four 80 kg people travels over a rough washboard
dirt road with corrugations 4.0 m apart, which cause the car to bounce on its
spring suspension. The car bounces with maximum amplitude when its speed is
16 km/h. The car now stops and the four people get out. By how much does the
car body rise on its suspension owing to this decrease of mass ?
4. A wave, Acos(kx-ωt), is traveling along a string in the x axis with a
linear density, μ. Find the average rate of energy transmission in terms of
A, k, ω and μ for this wave.
5. A violin string with mass 0.50 g and length 20 cm is fixed at both ends
and oscillates in its fundamental mode. Assuming the tension on the string
is 400 N and the sound speed is 340 m/s. Find the wavelength of the emitted
sound wave.
6. A submarine is moving at 50 km/h and sending out sonar signal at 1000 Hz
with speed 5500 km/h. If there is a wall-like mountain in front of this
submarine, what frequency will be detected ?
7. Design a constant-volume gas thermometer. You need to give the proper
drawing, calibration procedure, and things to measure in order to get the
temperature measurement of a heat bath.
8. At what frequency do molecules collide in oxygen gas at temperature 400 K
and presure 2.0 atm ? Assume that the molecule diameter is 290 pm and that
the gas is ideal.
9. One mole of an ideal monatomic gas, at an initial pressure of 5.0 kPa and
initial temperature of 600 K, expands from its initial volume to final volume
Vf=2.0 m^3 with final pressure of 2.0 kPa. What is the change in entropy of
the gas during this expansion ? ( R = 8.31 J/mol.K )
10. A square with total length 4 L is charged positively with a linear charge
density λ. Find out the electric field along the vertical axis passing
through the center of this square. ∫(x^2+a^2)^(-3/2)dx=x(x^2+a^2)^(-1/2)/a^2
