其实这篇原本是在我的涡轮风扇内的回文
不过想想主题差太多了,为了增加讨论度跟可看性,我就拔出来了
不过因为文章搬移,大多是复制贴上,所以 P 币应该会少很多...
其实认真讨论的话,我认为 "平板过热会弄坏萤幕" 方向应该是正确的
Surface Pro 4 所用的面板是 IPS LCD
我们直接把 IPS LCD 当关键字喂给搜索引擎,可以找到一篇 2008 年的文章
"IPS Monitors beware heat!!!!"
里面提到他有一个 Dell 2007 IPS 的萤幕
‘we had a run in of early spring heat heat and as the office got
to temps above 72 degrees more and more of one side would develop
the "dirty look" and icons ghosted’
这里的 72 度应该是指华氏,而不是摄氏
这句话的重点是,他的萤幕也出现了残影,也就是 "icons ghosted"
‘5 inch band of discolored (looks a shade darker and is holding after
images) Last week we had 3 days of 88-94 degree weather and I know the
office got into the low 80s as the one AC unit is out in the front room.’
除了残影之余,他也出现了我们常见的黑色线条
另外一篇
"Ghosting when monitor is cold?"
里面也是一样的状况,而且发文者似乎早有 LCD 过热会有 "side effects" 的认知
有几篇手机的
"Ghost images on a screen / image retention"
里面主要讨论是 LG V10 的手机,他的萤幕出现了 ghost icon
但是有趣的是 LG V10 并不是 LED 萤幕,他是 IPS-TFT LCD
下面的讨论,有人开始怀疑这是高温造成的,但是没有更多的讨论了
还有篇手机的
"How to Fix Screen Burn-In Problem on Moto G4 Plus"
Moto G4 Plus 萤幕是 IPS LCD ,他也有 ghost icon 的问题
‘These icons are mostly visible on top, left and right side of
the screen. The problem gets worse when the phone starts to
heat. The more your Moto G4 Plus heat the more discoloration
and screen burn-in will happen on the screen.’
以上几篇都显示著高温对 LCD 可能有相似且明显的副作用
至于成因呢...我好像找到了,在一篇 Lenovo 的 issue 里面
"LCD image persistence (ghosting)"
‘Some users have reported an image persistence phenomenon; they are
able to create the image persistence by disabling screen savers and
leaving a fixed image on their screen for extended periods of time
- the persistent image is viewed only with a very light grey or off
white background’
这样具体的形容,跟我们在 SP4 所遇到的现象非常类似
‘Our testing indicates that the persistent images completely
dissipated in a short time period. The persistent image is caused
by the discharging of residual electromagnetic charges internal to
the LCD panel; when this charge has decayed or dissipated the
persistent image is gone. This persistence image is not similar to
previous generation CRT and monitor issues where the image was
"burnt in" on the screen. Any persistent image is not permanent or
damaging to the LCD panel.’
简单的说,是由 LCD 内部有残留的电磁放电现象所引起的
当这个电磁放电现象开始消散时,残留在 LCD 的画面即会消失
这并不像是烙印那样会永久损毁于 LCD 面板上
底下还做了实验比较 TN-LCD 以及 IPS-LCD 的差异
‘Generally LCDs have a parallel electrical field, so all of the
display area can be symmetrically controlled. By comparison, IPS
LCDs have asymmetrical electrical fields in some small areas, the
image persistence phenomenon will occur at the asymmetrical electric
fields. The image will dissipate during power off or by an image
change in a short amount of time. This phenomenon is a natural
characteristic of an IPS LCD.’
这个现象主要是出现在 LCD 内部的电场不对称的情况产生的电磁放电所致
TN 内部电厂是均匀且对称,则不会产生
IPS 内部是不对称的,所以容易发生

所以如果上述为真,那讨论方向应该要往 LCD 温度以及电磁放电现象着手
这就希望有能人异士带头来讨论了,毕竟这已经不是我的专业了
如果最后有机会证实,只要是 IPS-LCD 就会产生这样的现象
那想要叫微软陪,恐怕是更加不可能了,因为这已经从 bug 变成 feature 了
就像用 OLED 萤幕,一定会有烙印的问题等等
