想请问一下版上的大大，
去英国持Standard Visitor的免签，是否有一年内累积停留不得超过六个月的规定？
前几天有在版上询问关于去英国担任"自带经费访问学者"一年的签证问题，
由于12个月的Academic Visitor visa及 Tier 5 Work Visa都不适用于我，
因此目前倾向持六个月的Standard Visitor签证(免签)，进出英国两次。
但我在台湾驻英国代表处的网页上看到，若以免签待遇来英，
面试官可以"最近12个月内在英累积停留期间有无超过6个月"来决定是否准予入境，
这是否表示一年只内只能在英国停留六个月？也就是说，如果我08/01/2016入境，
是否在02/01/2017就要离开，并且等到08/01/2017才能再入境英国？
另外，如果想在英国以学术名义停留12个月，是否还有其他类型的签证可以申请？

你这个想法是滥用免签;不会成功

you will be refused entry at your first try.the requirements are exactly the same if you want to entry as a academic visitor whether it is 6 months or 12 months: you need to be paid and employed at your home institution.the only difference is you can stay for up to 6 monthswith visa waiver treatment but visa is required if you plan to stay longer than that up to 12M.You should apply for Tier 5 GAE as I mentioned earlier....
