Tennis - 10 tennis players are in the special list shared by ESPN
Roger Federer is the fourth most famous athlete in the planet according to
ESPN that prepared the top 100 list. Factors taken into consideration were
the athletes' endorsements, their followers on Facebook, Twitter and
Instagram, and their popularity on Google. The Swiss player earns $60 million
from sponsor and has 23.7 million followers in total. In the top 10 there is
also Rafael Nadal, who is ninth. The Mallorcan player earns $32 million from
endorsements, and 26.8 million followers. Both Rafa and Roger earned one
place than last year in the list.
The Serbian Novak Djokovic is 12th: he earns $34 million from endorsements
but has 17.1 million followers. 19th Serena Williams, who is the most second
female player famous after Ronda Rousey. The American earns $20 million from
endorsements, five more than her rival Maria Sharapova, who is 23rd. In the
middle there is at the 20th place Kei Nishikori, who also earns $30 million.
"Only" 32nd Andy Murray, 42nd Stan Wawrinka, while Caroline Wozniacki and
Eugenie Bouchard are respectively 87th and 93rd.
