上周有同学问我，假如是比较类的summary题要怎么解呢？
其实只要是summary题，都是在考你一样的能力—summarize。
你只能够选最有印象的选项以及最重要、不可或缺的选项。
同学可以参考这篇，回忆一下summary题的解法，
“托福Summary题如何解？”

因此，以下建议同学遇到此类summary题可以这样作答：
STEP 1: 用表格做笔记
当你一开始看到整篇文章架构是以比较为主的时候，你就可以先有个底，很
有可能后面的summary题会考你比较两者的特色。因此，在笔记纸上面，除
了做架构式笔记，了解整篇文章的脉络之外，建议同学在作答的过程中，随
手多做一个比较两者的表格，到时候做summary题就派得上用场。
STEP 2: 思考两者的不同
即使你没有察觉到文章架构是以比较为主，没做比较的表格，做到summary
题时，你也可以先想一下，根据你作答的了解，两者有什么不同？哪些资讯
是你认为会出现在summary选项里面的呢？
STEP 3: 作答策略：3O, 2X, 2?
根据你的想法，可以淘汰两个完全没有印象的，选三个最有印象的，剩下两
个不确定再回文中检查。当然，练习久了，你会发现淘汰两个没有印象的选
项之后，边比较笔记，剩下五个应该能够轻松归类才对。
我们用TPO 24-R2 Breathing During Sleep这篇来示范：
建议同学先自己做做看，再看以下示范。
Directions: From the seven statements below, select the statements
that correctly characterize breathing during wakefulness and those
statements that correctly characterize breathing during sleep.
Drag each answer choice you select into the appropriate box of the
table. Two of the answer choices will NOT be used. This question
is worth 3 points.
Answer Choices
A. The role of the rib cage increases and the role of the
diaphragm decreases.
B. Carbon dioxide in blood rises and oxygen drops.
C. The coughing reflex is extremely complex.
D. A great deal of effort is used for breathing.
E. Upper airways are resistant to colds and allergies.
F. There is a drop in the volume of air that is exchanged.
G. Automatic and voluntary respiratory systems are both involved.

STEP 1: 用表格做笔记

STEP 2: 思考两者的不同
假如答题过程中，没有做比较的表格，此时，也可以架构式笔记为主。在英
文文章中，重点都会放在段落首句和末句，因此，架构式笔记也能够帮你选
答案。
STEP 3: 选答案
值得注意的是，不要立马删掉一个有印象的选项。比较有一定程度的对比，因此，假如某一选项不符合
asleep，不代表一定错，或许是awake的特征。另外，不要陷入回文找的陷
阱，因为回文章中找的时候，通常都倾向于选到很细节的选项。即使遇到不
确定的选项回文中找，也要不断思考这个选项是重要的细节吗？还是其实无
关紧要呢？
建议同学先淘汰两者最没有印象的选项，例如：
C The coughing reflex is extremely complex. 没有印象提到”complex
”这个特征。
E Upper airways are resistant to colds and allergies. 没有印象文中
有特别着墨upper airways。
因此，先删掉这两者。
A. The role of the rib cage increases and the role of the
diaphragm decreases.
跟Asleep的特征相反，但是我对rib cage, diaphragm有印象，也有出现在
笔记中，先保留，可能跟Awake有关。
B. Carbon dioxide in blood rises and oxygen drops. 确定是Asleep的
特征，文中有重复强调asleep时air lower, harder to breathe。
D. A great deal of effort is used for breathing. 有印象，也有出现
在笔记中，确定是Asleep的特征。
F. There is a drop in the volume of air that is exchanged. 此选项
一样明显是Asleep的特征。
故Asleep选BDF。
G. Automatic and voluntary respiratory systems are both involved.
明显是Awake的特征，故Awake选AG。
Summary题通常是同学最头痛的题目，但是考的能力却是日常生活中以及出
国唸书时，必备的能力—总结（summarize）。因此，建议同学平常就
多练习总结，可以总结最近看过的电影、小说、新闻等，如此一来，便能够慢慢
加强summarize的能力喔！
