Welcome to Taiwan! I’m a university student majoring in English in NCCU
(National Chengchi University, which is located near Taipei Zoo and Maokong.)
During your stay in Taiwan, I’m sure you want to visit as many good places as
possible. I would recommend Maokong for you, and when you visit Maokong, mayb
e you can consider signing up for my project as well! Your participation to my
project would really help me a lot. Plus, I can be your local guide or Chines
e tutor afterwards if you wish. :)
Here are some more details about my project:
- What is it about? My project aims to study how Taiwanese university students
tell their happy and angry episodes of life in English.
- What are you going to do? You’ll be telling your happy and angry episodes o
f life in English as well in hopes that the differences of word choices and se
ntence patterns can be examined.
- How will I do it? I’ll be conversing with you while you tell your stories,
and it’ll take about 15 minutes. Afterwards, you’ll be asked to complete a q
uestionnaire that can be finished within 5-10 minutes.
- Where? NCCU campus (The specific classroom will be informed once we’ve arra
nged the meeting date and time), or any other place you prefer.
- Who am I looking for? (All are required. )

You speak only English as your first language
You’ve stayed in Taiwan less than 6 months.
- Anything else? After completing the questionnaire, you’ll be given NTD 200
as a token of thankfulness for your help and contribution to this project. :D

- 对象/受试者是谁？ （皆须符合）
　美国大学生
　英文为唯一母语者
　在台湾尚未待超过六个月
- 要做什么？受试者将会用英文叙说自己人生中开心和生气的故事，以探讨台湾人和美国
人的用语和句法有何不同
- 如何进行？我会和受试者对话，受试者跟我说他们的人生经验，约莫15分钟，以及需要
填写一份问卷，大概5到10分钟可以完成
- 在哪里进行？政大（确切地点会在联络后告知您）或是任何受试者觉得舒适的地方
- p.s. 此项计画由行政院科技部补助进行。完成问卷后，受试者将会获得新台币200元的
受试费用，以感谢受试者对于此项计划的帮助与付出。　:)
