(1) @BryanHoch: Nestor Cortes threw 20 pitches in live BP today and said that
he “definitely didn’t feel any pain." His next outing is scheduled for
July 13 in Tampa, Fla. Barring any setbacks, Cortes expects to rejoin the big
league rotation around the first week of August.
(2) @BryanHoch: Jonathan Loáisiga tossed about 10 pitches from the bullpen
mound today, the first time that he has done so since beginning a throwing
program on June 12. Loáisiga underwent arthroscopic elbow surgery on May 2.
(3) @MaxTGoodman: Willie Calhoun (quad strain) was also on the field this
morning, doing some throwing.
