What Nowitzki still isn’t certain about is where the next step will take him in
his professional life. He has the title of “special adviser” for the Maverick
s. He admitted he’s not sure what that means.

But he does know one thing for certain that he won’t be doing in the future: co
aching.

“The special advising came by because I wasn’t ready to be full on board yet,
” he said. “I love the Mavs and I want to help. But with little children (at h
ome), I wasn’t ready to fully commit and I’m just not there yet.

the patience to deal with all that nonsense these days. So that one’s out. Othe
r than that, I think all the options are on the table.”
