Kyrie Irving believes the earth is flat: 'They lie to us'
On an episode of fellow Cavaliers Channing Frye and Richard Jefferson's
podcast, the All-Star point guard casually dropped a bombshell of a belief
after both Jefferson and Frye said they believe the earth to be round.
"The earth is flat," Irving said matter-of-factly.
Irving joins rapper B.o.B. as a notable denier of a sphere-shaped planet.
"Anytime you have a specific question, like, 'Is the Earth flat?' or 'Is the
Earth round?' I think you need to do research on it," Irving said.
When asked how he can believe the flat theory, Irving responded, "Because it
is right in front of our faces. They lie to us."
Irving also acknowledged that he has been taught his entire life that the
planet is round, but thinks logically, it just doesn't make sense.
"If you really think about it from a landscape of the way we travel, the way
we move, and the fact that, can you really think of us rotating around the
sun, and all planets aligned, rotating in specific dates, being perpendicular
with what's going on with these 'planets' and stuff like this," Irving
explained, using air quotes when saying the word "planets."
