Dirk Nowitzki has a vested interest in Mark Cuban’s contributions to SMU to
fund a research project on flopping.
After all, Dirk’s a flopper. Or at least a seller of fouls. He freely admits
as much.
“We’re never going to get rid of it,” he said recently. “But you got to
limit it. It’s part of sports. It’s part of winning. Some people are smart
and do a little extra thing to kind of sell the call. To me, that’s part of
sports.
“You don’t want the obvious ones, the really, really bad ones. I think we’
d love to get rid of those.
“But if somebody really does get shoved or hit a little bit, just to sell it
a little for the referees so it does get the call, I don’t have a problem
with that. I think that’s part of the game.”
In other words, Nowitzki is happy to help the referees see what maybe their
eyes may have missed in the course of action on the court.
Of course, when you oversell it, you get what Chris Bosh got Friday – a
$5,000 fine for violating the NBA’s anti-flopping rule. He did that in Game
4 of the Finals on Thursday.
Cuban has put up $100,000 to bankroll research to find out the scientific
reactions of flopping – sort of like figuring out if a 250-pound dude runs
within an inch or two of a 180-pound guy whether it’ll make the smaller
player fall down.
It’s a little more involved than that. But you get the idea. He wants to get
down to whether the kinetics of flopping can help the NBA and referees figure
out how to differentiate between a foul and a flop.
Nowitzki, meanwhile, wants it known that he’s not a fan of the soccer flop –
the art of getting hit with a slight breeze, falling down and acting like
you need to have a major limb amputated.
“The really obvious ones,” he said, “where you don’t even get hit and
then you fall down, we do need to get rid of those.”
Dirk
Cuban希望借由研究帮助裁判判断假摔与犯规的差异
最后Dirk特别说他不爱足球那种假摔
那种连碰都没碰到就倒的

假摔事后补一个技术犯规还不错反正技术犯规累积够多也要禁赛
