De Gea - 5
Over-committed for the Pedro goal but, unlike some of his teammates, showed a
modicum of composure rather than wilting.
Valencia - 6
Provided decent service down the right and cannot be blamed for Zlatan
Ibrahimovic's and Marcus Rashford's profligacy. Only one who was at it.
Smalling - 0 (LOL!!!)
His worst performance in two years. Showed an appalling lack of judgement for
the opener and overestimated Daley Blind's pace.
Bailly - 5
Refused to be intimidated by Diego Costa and often interrupted Chelsea
counter-attacks but was let down by teammates.
Blind - 1
Jose Mourinho picked the wrong day to name Marcos Rojo as a substitute ahead
of Luke Shaw. Perhaps Blind's poorest United performance.
Herrera - 4
Busy but erratic. Lacked the discipline he displayed at Anfield and offered
United's defence little security. A threat in attack.
Fellaini - 4
Put himself about but United's failure to contain Chelsea meant he was
quickly overwhelmed by the hosts' live wire midfielders. Predictably
substituted.
Pogba - 5
His stint as the playmaker was quickly abandoned and, in a game United fans
would have hoped he'd grab by the lapels, Pogba didn't.
Rashford - 5
Inexplicably started on the right and switched to the left. Looked more
comfortable there but often resembled a wing-back and wasted a good chance
just before half-time.
Lingard - 3
A needless inclusion when set up to stifle opponents, he was never going to
have an effect on the left and then Valencia provided more width than him on
the right.
Ibrahimovic - 2
Five Premier League games running now he has squandered routine chances. It
is costing United points and his place might be in jeopardy.
Subs
Mata - 5
Lively but indisciplined.
Rojo - 4
Shouldn't have been on the bench.
Martial - 5
Could not impact the game.
