Rangers infielder Jurickson Profar was progressing well from his torn right
shoulder muscle, but had a setback and will need a second surgery.
The Rangers had him throwing from 105 feet, but he felt a slight pull on
Monday. He had an MRI on Tuesday, and it showed an increased strain in his
shoulder, MLB.com reports.
Dr. Keith Meister will perform the surgery on Monday in Arlington. The
timetable for Profar's return won't be clear until after the procedure is done.
Profar, 21, is a career 231/.301/.343 hitter with seven home runs and 28 RBIs
in limited action for the Rangers. He was regarded as the top minor league
prospect before he was called up in 2013 but missed the 2014 season due to
injuries.
