According to FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi, Zack Greinke has told the Royals
he wants to be traded and the team "intends to grant his wish."
Greinke fired his agent Friday, switching from SFX Baseball to CAA,
something Morosi says is "the clearest indication yet" that the former
Cy Young winner wants to be dealt. Separate sources told Morosi that Greinke
"really wants out of K.C." What complicates matters is that he has a no-trade
clause that allows him to block a deal to 15 teams,
though it sounds like Greinke wants out of Kansas City badly enough that
he might be willing to waive the clause. The two losers of the Cliff Lee
sweepstakes, the Yankees and Rangers, figure to be among the teams
that will make a play for Greinke. The Nationals, Brewers and Blue Jays
have also been linked to the righty.
