Hello reddit, in light of recent performances by Taiwan LMS teams at IEM and
MSI, it feels that the community may have some questions about the Taiwan
region and the competitive environment here.
I am rkL , Owner and CEO of MSE, I am joined by my head coach Lilballz, S2
World Champion and a prominent Taiwan eSports public figure.
Feel free to Ask us anything about the launch of Midnight Sun, Taiwan
eSports, or about Lilballz and what hes been up to after S2, or if you would
like to ask my team any questions.
各位乡亲大家好，由于最近LMS队伍在IEM和MSI中的表现，你们可能对于台湾赛区以及比
赛环境会有些好奇。
我是rkl，MSE的老板，我将和我们的教练球Z(S2世界冠军、台湾电竞知名人物)一起。
尽量问我们关于MSE、台湾电竞，或是S2之后的球Z的事情，还是想问我的队伍，都可以唷
！
1. What do you think of AHQ?
你对于AHQ有什么看法?
Lilballz: I personally feel AHQ has a really strong Top and AD, and due to
recent meta changes, it really allows them to shine. I'm not saying Westdoor
is a bad player, just the opposite, the meta fits Westdoors team impact
style, where other lanes get more opportunities to have impact on the game.
球Z：我个人觉得AHQ有很厉害的TOP和AD，而且由于最近meta的变动，他们得以尽情发挥
。我不会说西门是个不好的玩家，正好相反，这个meta太适合西门队伍喜爱碰撞的风格了
。所以其他路都有了更多影响比赛的能力。
(这串下面还有人钓鱼说AHQ选手的个人能力其实不如YOE和HKE只是游戏风格更果断所以能
打出优势，然后就笔战了~)

Lilballz : on occassion, to answer the questions below, we met each other at
a local internet cafe, because both of us decided to skip class that day, we
were trying put together a in house game of dota, so i started asking around
the internet cafe and thats a brief story about how we met.
although, since S2 worlds we havnt seen each other in person, which kinda
sucks
偶尔啦！至于追加的问题，我们在一间地方的网咖遇到。因为我们那天都决定要翘课，想
要来办一个dota的线下赛，所以我们到处问附近的网咖，大概是这样啦。
不过自从S2世界赛后我们就没在遇见了，很可惜。

Opinions on jungle Mundo in this meta?
请问我的偶像球z你对于蒙多jg在这个meta的看法?
Lilballz :
F-ing terrible, none of the new jungle items provide spell vamp making Mundo
not a strong choice.
烂死了。
没有一个新的jg道具可以提供法术吸血，这使得蒙多jg不是个好选择。
5.Hi Lillballz, as a fellow Taiwanese thank you for doing this AMA. My question
is, what in the world happened to TPA after they got reverse-swept by YOE at
IEM Taipei? Their whole team just collapsed after getting that 2-0 lead and
then losing 3 straight. Why has Chawy been so underwhelming when people saw
him as an upgrade over Morning? What do you think of Morning in the top lane?
What do you thnk of Lupin, was it better than the Bebe+Jay duo lane?

我的问题是TPA在被YOE让二追三的IEM总决赛到底发生了什么事？他们整个队伍在赢得两
场游戏之后直接崩溃连输了三场。为什么邱味做为替代早晨在中路的补强这事让人们如此
印象深刻？那你觉得早晨在上路表现如何？Lupin呢？他在下路的表现有比bebe和jay的组
合好吗？
Lilballz : Winds has a hard time playing Bo5's Chawy imo was not a upgrade to
morning, but due to player population, it was a decent move for the team.
Morning is a very good player especially in map awareness etc, and a team
player, which fits the top lane role very well. Lupin is good but overrated,
but the BeBe Jay duo lane was better.
Bo5赛程对于winds来说很困难。而我觉得邱味替代早晨并不是一个补强而是阵容上的考量
，这样对于队伍来说是最好的。
早晨是非常好的选手，特别是他的地图意识，而且他是个团队型的选手，非常适合上路。
Lupin很棒但是过誉，bebe和jay的组合比现在好。

7.Just have a few questions:
1. How do you rate LMS/GPL versus other regions, specifically NA and EU?
2. How often do you scrim KR or CN teams? If often, how do those scrims
affect your international play?
3. What are some of the biggest obstacles for LMS as a league to overcome in
order to become more well-known and more talented on par with the other Asian
regions?
4. What is your opinion on imported players as a whole?
5. And finally, which place do you think MSE will take next split, and do you
think they will qualify for Worlds?

Lilballz :
1. In this meta, LMS is definitely stronger than NA and EU, Im not saying all
LMS teams can beat EU and NA teams, but with NA and EU heavily favoring
midlane allstars, in this meta midlane allstars are having a lower impact.
Fnatic continues to be strong due to the amazing play by Huni in the top lane.
We also have opportunities that NA and EU dont have, which i feel will allow
our region to adapt quicker to meta changes, we have regular scrim opponents
against China and KR region teams.
1. KR and CN teams are in our regular pool of scrim partners, also SEA teams
on occassion, as far as impact, it allows us to see what teams from
international regions are trying in terms of meta changes
2. LMS teams need more opportunities to prove themselves on an international
stage, its already happening due to recent performances by our teams at IEM
and MSI, more opportunities will give our region more spotlight time.
3. I actually personally believe Koreans are not that much better than the
players in the any region skillwise, the main difference is competitive
mentality.
4. I see MSE entering the top 4 teams of LMS , and if players all play to
their maximum potential we have a shot for worlds. We are still a young team
that is still growing, but with time we will become a new force to be
reckoned with here in Taiwan, and soon Internationally.
1. LMS在这个META绝对比EU/NA还强，我不会说所有LMS队伍都可以打败EU/NA的队伍。但
是NA/EU极度看重中路选手的发挥，而中路在这个META的影响力有限。Fnatic变强是因为
Huni在上路惊人的表现。我们也有些NA/EU所没有的机会，这些机会让我们赛区可以在
meta变动上调整的比EU/NA还快。我们有更多和CN/KR队伍团练的机会。
2. KR/CN的队伍和我们常常团练，有时候也会跟SEA队伍。这使我们能够观察到国际上的
队伍如何适应meta的转变。
3. 其实我个人认为韩国出产的选手没有真的比其他地区的选手还强多少。主要还是竞争
意识上的差异。
4. 我觉得MSE可以进入LMS四强。如果选手们都可以最大的发挥他们潜力我们就可以拿到
世界赛资格。我们还是个成长中的年轻队伍，但是我们会渐渐在成为一股在台湾赛区甚至
是国际中不容忽视的力量。
8.How do you think the LMS teams will fare against international competition at
worlds?
We've seen AHQ perform well at MSI but is this the standard that can be
expected out of other teams in the region?
你觉得LMS中的队伍在面对国际级的竞争者时可以有何表现？
我们已经看到ahq在msi中的好表现了，但是我们以这样的标准去期待LMS中其他的队伍吗
？
Lilballz :
In the LMS, AHQ is solidly in the top 4 of the LMS, of the top 4 teams in the
LMS they are always capable taking games from each other, each team having
one strength or 2 that they depend on to win games, and if the meta fits the
team the best it will allow them to shine.
the rest of the teams of the LMS are becoming more competitive and are
quickly capable of beating the top4 teams, teams such as my team. I have
confidence the region is getting even more competitive due to the formal
structure set in place by Garena / Riot.
在LMS中，AHQ是无法动摇的前四强之一。而这四个队伍都有能力互相赢得比赛，每个队伍
都有一到两个使他们能够赢得比赛的方式。所以当meta最适合哪个队伍，哪个队伍就可以
展现实力。
而LMS中剩下的队伍将会变得更有竞争力，很快的他们就有能力威胁强四强了，例如我的
队伍。我有信心LMS将因为Garena/Riot建立的健全制度变的更有竞争力。
9.Did you think you would beat M5 at S2WC? In a interview with alex ich he said
that you didn't think you could 5v5 teamfight vs M5 so you used nidalee to
avoid teamfights is this correct?
你在S2世界冠军时有觉得你们能够打败M5吗？alex ich在某个访问中提到你们不觉得你们
能够在5v5团战中击败m5，所以你们使用了奈德丽去避免团战，是真的吗？
Lilballz :
Yes this is correct , M5 Ban/Pick was very focused on teamfights but weaker
in lane, the strategy planned for them was to avoid team fights and set up a
gold lead and go into poke/siege later on.
这是真的。M5的B/P非常倾向团战，但是对线弱势。而我们的策略就是去避免团战爆发，
建立金钱优势，以poke的方式逼塔。
10.Hi lilballz. Tell me more about this flash out on malphite ultimate during
worlds against clg.eu I think. Did you have vision ? If you don't the

你那时候有视野吗？如果没有的话那那个反应时间也太变态了吧！怎么办到的啊？？？
Lilballz : The game was an exhibition match between CLG EU and us, about
10-15s earlier Malphite gave away his position so I knew he was around, once
I saw Kogmaw shifting up, I knew the ult was coming and I had my fingering
hovering to do the flash.
TL:DR I knew it was going to happen, I purposely baited myself so i could do
something flashy
那场比赛是我们和CLG.EU的表演赛。大概在10-15秒前石头人暴露了他的位置，所以我知
道他在附近。当我看到记得向上走的时候，我就知道石头人的大会来了，所以我马上按了
闪现。
简单来说就是我知道他会大，所以我故意用自己去bait他，然后我就可以做出这个很炫砲
的play。
11.How did it feel to win a world championship? Especially coming in as the
heavy underdogs?
Also I just wanted to let you know I stayed up cheering for you guys all
night in the finals, was the first finals for LoL I've ever watched.
拿到世界冠军是怎样的感觉呢？特别是比赛前公认的超级弱队。
另外我希望让你知道决赛那天我熬夜为你们加油了整个晚上，那是我第一次看LOL总决赛

Lilballz : Thank you for your support! It felt amazing, felt even better
proving the world wrong about us. We were training extremely hard prior to
worlds, 10am-12am practice schedule 6 days a week, we felt we earned it.

12.1.We saw Taiwan improve after there departure from GPL , Why do you think
2.At the time of Worlds Do you think Taiwan is already better than NA & EU
and can match KR & CN ?
3.Top4 Midlaners on LMS ?
4.Do you think Season5 is almost the same as Season2 because of the tank meta
?
1. 我们看到了台湾在从GPL脱离出来之后的进步。你觉得这是为什么呢？
2. 你觉得现在的台湾赛区是不是已经比NA/EU还好，甚至可以跟KR/CN竞争了呢？
3. LMS前四中路是？
4. 你觉得S5的META是不是跟S2相似，因为坦克崛起？
Lilballz :
1. A more structured league system with support from Garena / Riot are
extremely beneficial to teams becoming competetive
2. By worlds, I think that Taiwan can easily be competetive with KR and CN,
as long as teams stay focused, as far as EU and NA goes I think that because
they are a bit sheltered in competitive play from other regions it makes them
slower to adapt which sometimes causes them to fall behind, but its not
because they arnt trying, I can definitely see the teams attempting to make
changes which is good
3. Maple > Ximen = Chawy = Toyz , But all of them are strong in some areas
and weaker in others.
4. Still different, S2 meta was way slower in comparison to S5
1. 更健全的赛制以及Garena/Riot的协助对于我们队伍变得更有竞争力非常有帮助。
2. 放眼世界，我觉得只要台湾队伍继续专注向前，绝对可以和KR/CN竞争。而EU/NA的话
，我觉得他们有一点点缺乏和其他赛区的竞争，这使得在调整和适应上有时候会比较慢。
但这并不代表他们不努力，我很确信这些队伍都很努力尝试让自己变好。
3. 妈宝>西门=邱味=Toyz，不过他们各有各的强项和弱项。
4. 还是有差。S2 的节奏比S5慢。
13.From your point of view what caused TSM to have such a poor performance at
MSI when they were expected to land top 3?
你觉得为什么原本被认为是TOP3的TSM在MSI的表现这么差？
Lilballz :
They rely too heavily on Bjergsen's performance, in this current meta, mid
lane has less of an impact, while top lane and ad performances are what have
larger impact on game wins currently
他们太依赖鼻尔森的发挥。在这个META中mid的影响力没那么强了，最近top和ad的影响力
更大。
14.Do you think we'll ever see the return of champions like elise, evelynn, xin
zhao, or even amumu?
你觉得我们可以看到蜘蛛、伊芙琳、赵信和阿姆姆回归战场吗？
Lilballz :
Excluding Elise , Xin Zhao, Amumu, Evelynn may return relatively soon within
this meta with either an itemization buff or a early game buff. They all have
some form of high impact ultimate, and effective wave and jungle clearing,
the main things missing may be a little utility, such as Evelynn is unable to
help botlane with a smite due to needing it for herself.
除了蜘蛛以外，赵信、阿姆姆、伊芙琳在这个meta可能会比较快回归战场，如果道具和前
期能力buff的话。他们都有一些影响力强的大绝以及清野能力，然而他们都有一些些缺限
。比如说伊芙琳无法用重击帮助下路因为她自己很需要。
15.Thoughts on yoefw getting sofm?
你对于yoefw得到sofm的看法？
Lilballz :
SOFM is an extremely talented player with very similar styles to Karsa, due
to personal issues Karsa has, the addition of SOFM will only make FW
stronger, after the small amount of time needed to adapt him in and iron out
communication issues
SOFM是个非常有天分的选手，他的风格和karsa很像。由于一些Karsa的个人问题，SOFM的
补强只会让FW更强。只要一些时间让他调整，以及解决沟通上的问题。
