Dwight Howard 今夏与湖人签了一纸2.68M/yr的非保障约，当初被认为是湖人为了防止气氛
而给的条件。
而根据ESPN记者 Ramona Shelburne 表示，非保障约是Howard自己要求的
“I think with Dwight, it also goes back to why the Lakers signed that contract
with him that way in the first place. Dwight asked for that. That was his idea.
That wasn’t the Lakers saying ‘oh this is the only way we’ll do it.’ This
was Dwight and his agent saying ‘yes, we’ll do non-guaranteed just to show you
how committed we are to being this kind of player.’”
这并非湖人当初表示“喔，我们只能这样开。”而是Howard与他的经纪人说“我们就拿非保
障约，来证明“我是来真的！””
而到了一月，Howard的合约将自动转换为保障合约。
