SINGAPORE: Singapore singer Kit Chan Thursday hinted that she has quite a few
surprises in store for her fans during her upcoming "Music Box" concert
series in October, to thank them for their overwhelming support.
More than 80 percent of the tickets to her concerts on October 13 and 14 at
the Marina Bay Sands Grand Theatre have been snapped up shortly after they
went on sale, prompting organisers to invite her to perform for an extra
night on October 15.
Chan declined to give details about what she has planned, but said she is
very grateful for the support her fans had shown her and will strive to make
it a concert to remember.
"I was thanking God and all my lucky stars (when she was invited to do a
third night)!
"Seeing how competitive the market is these days, I am really grateful to the
fans who went out there and bought tickets," said Chan, alluding to how there
were many concerts scheduled in October, including one by Chinese superstar
Faye Wong.
"I hope to do my best for them."
Although rehearsals for the concert haven't yet begun, Chan has already begun
preparing for her concerts, downing copious quantities of Vitamin C to keep
from falling sick, and making sure not to eat too much fattening foods, so as
to look her best.
Chan, who turns 39 on Thursday, is a self-confessed foodie and has always
loved eating cakes but she had to control herself in the face of her
favourite foods, even during her birthday celebrations.
Despite all the sacrifices she had to make, Chan, who is best known for her
soulful rendition of Dick Lee's hit song "Home", expressed that 2011 had been
a brilliant year for her as both her album and concert has done well.
It has been a very happy birthday for the singer indeed.
"It is a very good exit to my 30s," said Chan.
