美联社未撤稿 指朱“终极统一”报导也不只一篇
〔即时新闻／综合报导〕美联社昨报导“朱习会”时提及朱立伦“重申支持与中国终极统一”（eventual unification），虽经国民党抗议并声称美联社已撤稿，但美联社该篇报导仅更新加入“九二共识”字眼，并未撤稿，且该社报导谈及朱支持与中国终极统一的新闻，还不只一篇。
美联社昨（4日）下午5时24分由记者Christopher Bodeen所撰写，标题名为“In China, Taiwan party leader calls for more global access”的报导，提到“朱立伦重申他的政党支持与中国终极统一，这是中国严格坚持的立场，但此论点在认为台湾是独立国家的年轻人中愈来愈不受欢迎”（Eric Chu also affirmed his party's support for eventual unification with the Chinese mainland, a stance China holds sacred but which is increasingly unpopular among young Taiwanese who see their island as an independent country.）。
经国民党抗议后，美联社昨晚8时10分更新该则报导，文中增加“九二共识”字眼，指“朱立伦重申支持两岸于1992年达成的共识，而此共识被北京解读为终极统一目标”（Eric Chu also affirmed his party's support for a consensus reached between Chinese and Taiwanese negotiators in 1992 that is interpreted by Beijing as a commitment to eventual unification.）
美联社随后于今（5日）凌晨1时44分再度更新该则报导，内容仅略做些微更新。虽然国民党发言人杨伟中表示，美联社报导子虚乌有，要求撤下该则新闻，并呼吁其他媒体勿引用错误报导，但相关报导早已陆续被包括ABC新闻网、Fox大众新闻网及达拉斯晨间新闻等美国知名媒体转载引述。
美联社还另发出标题为“Taiwan party leader affirms eventual reunion with China”的报导，内容提及台湾执政党党魁在“朱习会”中，“重申他的政党支持与中国终极统一”，此可视为过去敌对状态的两岸持续和解的一部分。（The head of Taiwan's Nationalists reaffirmed the party's support for eventual unification with the mainland when he met Monday with Chinese President Xi Jinping as part of continuing rapprochement between the former bitter enemies.）
该报导也指出，统一议题将在明年总统大选会被热烈讨论，而朱立伦是下届总统热门候选人之一。
