至于句子里如何使用：“裤子类”的字当可数名词时，前面通常要加 "a pair of" 、
"pair of" 、 "pairs of" 或 "some", 例如：
I need a different pair of pants to match this shirt. 我需要找另外一条裤子来搭
配这件衬衫。或：
I need some different pants to match this shirt.
I’m packing four pair of pants for the trip. 我为这趟旅游准备带四条长裤。或：
I’m packing four pairs of pants for the trip.
“pair” 和 “pairs” 都可以，只是 “pairs” 更强调个别的一条一条的长裤。
笔者注：第一次知道中文里，“裤子”前要用“条”做量词时，就会心一笑！同时，因为
中文的处理跟英文不同，也让我自问，“裤子”明明只时“一件”衣服，英文为什么要把
它说成“双”呢？其实，古时候，无论中外，“裤子”原先确实是由分开的两件组成的！
“剪刀”和其他工具类的字：虽然 “scissors” 也用 “a pair of” 做量词，实际上
很多人用单数不定冠词 “a”，所以下面两句都对，可是第二句大概比较口语、常用：
Where’s that pair of scissors I was using yesterday? 我昨天用的那把剪刀在哪里
啊？或：
Where are those scissors I was using yesterday? 或：
Where’s that scissors I was using yesterday?
I need a scissors to cut this twine. 我需要一把剪刀来剪断这个 麻绳。或：
I need some scissors to cut this twine.
剩下的字，大部分当作一般复数名词即可，例如：
My bangs are always in my eyes. 我的浏海总是打到眼睛。
前面加 “the” 的字，记得使用时加 “the”，例如：
I had the German measles when I was four. 我在四岁时得过德国麻疹。
还有一个比较奇怪的例外，就是news新闻、消息。News虽然有 -s词尾，却是单数名词，
同时也是不可数名词，所以不能说 The news are good.，必须要说：The news is
good. 这是好消息。也不可以说 a news，只能说 a piece of news 或 some news.
