大家好,今天在 New York Times看到一句话:
Thousands of supporters of Brazil’s former president, Jair Bolsonaro, broke
into government buildings yesterday to protest what they falsely claim was a
stolen election.
请问此句后方的 "what they falsely claim was a stolen election"
为什么不是写成: "what they falsely claim to be/as a stolen election"
或是直接把 was 删除, 变成 “what they falsely claim a stolen election"
这样原句里 what 作为插入句,里头不就有两个动词 claim 和 was
我会这样理解,是因为类似的句子像是:
"If she wants to learn to do what she calls 'useful things'...
这里的 what she calls 后面也没加 are。
不知道该怎么理解 "what they falsely claim was" 这样的文法(看起来有2个动词)?
谢谢
