在OALD9中看到这样的解释；
mood

英文的所有格使用方式比起中文的"XX的YY"限缩不少主要都是ownership或membership的关系才会用所有格指称特定动词的用法可能可以用 但这边是整个动词范筹

这个好像真的没为什么。就把verb use当成像是复合名词一样的东西吧不过你可以留意一下，一般英文中的所有格如果是抽象概念或无机物通常是不能写成's这种形式的(也就是说你可能可以把上面那句改成的use of verb，但写成's则很奇怪
