HESPERIA >> A youth pastor and parishioner pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to
having sex with minors, according to Victorville Superior Court records.
The two were arrested Monday night on suspicion of having sex with two
teenage girls.
Victor Callejas-Vargas, 22, a youth pastor at Centro Cristiano de Fe Church
at 18280 Atlantic St., and church member Jesse Rodolfo Rios, 19, both of
Hesperia, were booked into the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto on
suspicion of sex with a minor three years younger; sex with a minor with the
suspect over 21 and the victim under 16 years of age; oral copulation with a
person under 16; oral copulation with a person under 18 and sex with a
foreign object, according to booking records.
On Sept. 9, detectives learned of a possible inappropriate relationship
between the two men and a 14-year-old girl. Further investigation led to the
discovery of a second alleged victim, a 17-year-old girl, sheriff’s
officials said.
Both girls are members of the Hesperia church.
Booking records show Callejas-Vargas and Rios were being held in lieu of
$150,000 bail.
Detectives believe there may be more victims.
