前两天收到northstargame的信
内容是说他们准备要推出新演化论的下一款独立作品:海洋
本来只想招募一百名内测玩家
结果收到两千多个报名者
所以他们改变策略,把内测变成公测
因此提供了BETA版的海洋PNP及规则给玩家
小弟实在太喜欢生物题材的作品了
因此在此斗胆对规则进行了简译
排版不好敬请见谅 有翻错的部分 也麻烦各位先进不吝赐教
PS 翻完之后发现完全变了一个游戏,但感觉不出来好玩不好玩 个人觉得不是很有趣...

Oceans Rules - Beta v1.1
Overview
Our planet is teeming with life. Millions of species interact in a tightly
woven ecosystem where seemingly small events can have huge ripple effects.
Enter a vast, underwater cosmos: a mysterious interconnected world of
tentacles, sharp teeth, and black ink, where your survival depends on your
ability to adapt to the unknown.
The foundation of the oceanic food chain are billions of one-celled organisms
called phytoplankton that capture the sun's energy through photosynthesis.
The next level are species that feast on the sea's abundant plant life—
zooplankton. All of this takes place in the Reef.
Every other oceanic species is a predator, each bigger than the next, all the
way up to the dreaded apex predator....and even bigger than apex predators are enormous
filter feeders that gently swim through the ocean scooping up everything in their path with their
baleen.
Oceans is about this dynamic ecosystem that exists just under the water’s
surface. Although individual species will adapt with specific traits, it’s the entire
interwoven tapestry that determines which species survive, which ones thrive, and which ones will go
extinct.

SETUP
● Each player gets a Score Screen.
● Place the Reef, Species Boards (unlimited), and shuffled traits cards on
the table.
● Mix additional sets of 32 Population tokens with the blue Population
tokens:
○ 2-players: none (120 total)
○ 3-players: 1 set of Population tokens (152 total)
○ 4-players: 2 sets of Population tokens (184 total)
○ 5-players: 3 sets of Population tokens (216 total)
● Place the remaining Population tokens to the side to be used at the end of
the game.
● Set up the Ocean:
○ Place 3 random light colored Scenario Cards in a line next to the Reef.
○ Place 1 random dark colored Scenario Cards at the end of the line.
○ Roughly divide the mixed Population tokens into 4 even piles, and put each
pile on top of a Scenario Card. Do not count them! (that’s a waste of time)
● Deal 5 face-down trait cards to each player. Players may look at their
cards.
● Randomly choose a start player to go first.
● Flip a card from the deck into the face-up discard pile. The number on
that card is the number of Population tokens that each player will put into the Reef. In turn
order,players choose to take the tokens from any of the 4 Scenario cards.

所有玩家依序从自己选择的场景卡上将族群指示物移动到珊瑚区
GOAL
The goal of Oceans is to thrive in an ever-changing ecosystem where food is
scarce andpredators lurk. Most of your points will be from the Population of
your species over the course of the game. So cultivate your species, increase
their Population, and evolve them to best ensure their survival.
At the end of the game, players get points for:
● The Population tokens behind their Score Screens.
● The Population token on their surviving species.
● The trait cards on their surviving species.

INTERCONNECTED ECOSYSTEM
Every species in Oceans lives in the same environment. The left-most species
of one player is adjacent to the right-most species of another player.
So every species is connected by a big circle of adjacency. For now, we’ll
call this the circle of life [cue Disney music].

TURN STRUCTURE
On your turn, you must go through the following 4 phases in sequence:
回合流程

1) Play Cards phase
You get two actions in the Play Cards phase. You can do two different actions,
or the same action twice:
● Play a card from your hand onto a new species. Grab a Species Board (place
it vertically so that the fish are facing the Reef), give it 1 Population from
the first Scenario card in the Ocean, and place the trait face-up to the right
of the Species Board. A new species can go to the right, to the left, or in
between any of your other species. Once a player places their new species,
they are unable to alter its position (position is only altered by the
extinction and creation of species).
● Play a card from your hand onto an existing species. A species cannot have
more than 3 traits, but it can have multiple copies of the same trait. Half of
the traits in this set are additive: Tentacled , Cleaning , Symbiotic , Bottom
Feeding , and Parasitic .
● Discard a card from your hand to move Population tokens equal to the
number on thecard. Take the corresponding number of Population tokens from any
pile (Ocean or Reef) and place them in any other pile. All of the tokens must
come from a single source and cannot be taken from a different pile if the
original pile runs out of Population tokens.
You may also remove one or more traits from your species at this time. Removing
traits does not count as an action.
1)出牌阶段
在出牌阶段你可以执行两次动作,你可以做两个不同的动作或相同动作两次:
-打出一张卡片创造一个新的物种,拿取一块物种版图(垂直放置让鱼头朝向珊瑚区),从
最靠近珊瑚区的海洋场景卡上拿取一个族群指示物,并把性状卡正面朝上放在物种版图右
边。新的物种可以放在左边、右边或你任意两个物种中间,一旦放下新的物种版图,
物种的位置就不能更动(物种位置变化只会发生在灭绝或产生新物种时)
-打出一张卡片给予一个现存物种,一个物种不能拥有超过三样性状,但是可以拥有重复
的性状,游戏中有一半的性状都是可堆叠的:触手、清道夫、共生、底栖及寄生
-从手中弃置一张卡片,并依上面标示的数字,从任意区域(珊瑚区或海洋场景卡)上移动
族群指示物到其他区域所有的族群指示物必须来自同一个区域,即使该区域的族群指示物
用完了也不能从其他区域拿取
你也可以在这个阶段从物种上移除任意张数的性状,移除性状不算执行一个动作
2) Feeding phase
You choose one of your species to feed. That species may forage in the Reef
or attack another species.
● Forage in the Reef: Take 1 Population from the Reef and place it on the
Species Board.
● Attack another species: Take 1 Population from the attacked species and
place it on the Species Board of the attacking species. Any species can attack
any other species, so long as it is not prohibited by a defensive trait on the
attacked species(defensive traits have a black text box at the bottom). A
player can attack one of their own species.
A species may never get more Population than it has space for on its Species
Board.
Gains: Sometimes a feeding will trigger one or more species to gain Population.
When a species gains 1 Population, take 1 Population from the first Scenario
Card in the Ocean that has Population tokens, and place it on the Species Board.
All traits that are triggered by a feeding are resolved before a Scenario Card
that has been emptied becomes active. See Scenario Cards section. If a
species gains more than 1 Population and there is not enough Population on the
first inactive Scenario Card, it takes the remaining amount from the next
inactive Scenario Card.
Overpopulation : After each feeding is completed, check for Overpopulation.
OverPopulation happens when a species receives its 10th Population (the space
on the Species Board with the fish bones). Immediately place 4 Population from
that species into the Reef.
2)进食阶段

GAIN:

行,在所有性状都执行完后才触发海洋场景卡的效果,若第一个未触发的海洋场景卡上已
经没有族群指示物了,就从第二个未触发的海洋场景卡上继续拿取。
物种过剩:
当进食结束时,要进行物种过剩的确认,当一个物种拥有十个族群数量时就发生物种过剩
(使用到物种图板上的鱼骨物种)立即将物种版图上的四个族群指示物放到珊瑚区
3) Aging phase
Ah, the inevitable march of time… Score 1 Population from each species by
placing it behind your Score Screen. Any of your species that now have 0
Population go extinct.
Do the following
for each species that goes extinct:
● Place the traits in the discard pile.
● Put the Species Board back in the communal pile.
● Take 2 Population from any pile in the Ocean and place it into the Reef.
Remember! Species do not go extinct when the Population drops to 0.
Extinction only occurs
during the Aging phase of your turn. This means you always have a turn to try
and keep your species alive if they have been targeted by other players.
3)老化阶段
啊,无法避免的时间流逝...从你的每个物种版图上拿取一个族群指示物并放计分档板后
面,这些族群指示物价值1分
若任何一个你的物种上方没有族群指示物则该物种灭绝,当物种灭绝时依序执行下列行动

4) Discard & Draw phase
Discard as many cards from your hand as you want and draw back up to 5 cards.
Shuffle the discard pile into a new draw deck if you run out of cards in the
draw deck.
4)丢弃与抽牌阶段
将手上任意张数的卡片丢弃并抽满至五张,如果抽牌区没卡片了,混洗弃牌区的卡片补充
抽牌区。
SCENARIO CARDS
Scenario Cards are inactive as long as there are Population tokens on it.
After any action is resolved, a Scenario Card becomes active if there are no
Population tokens on it. And likewise, a Scenario Card becomes inactive again
if a player moves Population back onto it.
The dark colored Scenario Cards do not have ongoing effects. They have events
that get triggered. It is possible for these Scenario Cards to get triggered
multiple times during a game.
Population for these events are taken from the first Scenario Card with
Population tokens, or if this is the last turn of the game, from the Population
tokens that were set aside during Setup.
If your group dislikes a specific Scenario Card’s impact on the ecosystem,
feel free to remove it from the lineup in your future games. These cards are
designed to make players rethink their gameplay strategy. They are not designed
to make the game less fun!
海洋场景卡
当海洋场景卡上方有族群指示物时,海洋场景卡处于非活动状态。当任何一个动作完成后
,如果海洋场景卡上没有族群指示物,海洋场景卡将会被启用
同样的,如果玩家将族群指示物移回海洋场景卡上时,海洋场景卡再次进入非活动状态。
黑夜场景卡并不提供持续的效果,它们只会在被启用的当下触发效果。在一场游戏中,场
景卡可以被多次触发。
触发的增加族群会从第一个有族群指示物的海洋场景卡上拿取,若这是游戏的最后一回合

如果你的伙伴不喜欢某些特定海洋场景卡的效果,下次请直接把他移除不使用,这些卡片

END OF GAME
The last turn of the game takes place when a player must take a Population
token from the Ocean (1 of the 4 Scenario Cards) but there are no tokens left.
It does not matter if there are Population tokens in the Reef. The person that
triggers the ending finishes their turn. Every other player gets a 1 Population
bonus for each of their species and places it behind their Score Screen. Players
use the extra Population tokens during this final turn to satisfy any triggered
traits and for the bonus.
Scoring:
● Score 1 point for each Population token behind your Score Screen
● Score 1 point for each Population token on your surviving species
● Score 1 point for each trait on your surviving species.

REFERENCE SECTION - TRAIT CARDS
Defensive Traits
Defensive traits have a black text box at the bottom of the card so they are
easy to spot when looking around the table for a species to attack. Defensive
traits take priority over other traits when there is a conflict. For instance,
an Apex Predator says to take 3 Population when attacking , but Inking says it
only loses 1 Population when attacked . Since the Defensive trait wins the
conflict, an Apex Predator only gets 1 Population when it attacks a species
with Inking.

Inking:
A species with Inking only loses 1 Population when it is attacked by another
species.Furthermore, the attacking player’s Feeding phase immediately ends
(even if the attacking species has Tentacled).

Schooling:
If a species with Schooling has a Population of 4 or greater, it is protected

Transparency: A species with Transparency is protected from any attack so
long as the Reef has at least one Population.

Apex Predator: An Apex Predator can only be attacked by another Apex Predator
which is why the text box at the bottom of the card is black. It gets up to 3
Population when attacking another species (but the normal 1 Population when
foraging in the Reef).Since Defensive cards always take priority if there is a
conflict, Apex Predators only get 1 Population when attacking a species with
Inking .

Non-Defensive Traits
Many of the Non-Defensive traits gain Population when triggered. When a species
gains Population, take the Population from the first Scenario Card in the Ocean
with tokens on it, and place them on the species that is gaining the Population.
The number after the word gain is the number of Population the species will
receive from the Ocean. If a species has multiple copies of a trait that is
gaining Population, each copy will trigger.

Bottom Feeding: This species gains 2 Population whenever a species to its
immediate,left orright is attacked (depending upon the direction of the arrow).

Cleaning: Whenever a species with Filter Feeding forages , the 2 closest
species with Cleaning (one of each side) gain 2 Population. If there is only
1 species with Cleaning on the table, it only gains 2 Population (as opposed to
4 Population for being the closest on each side of the Filter Feeder). The
Cleaner does not need to be immediately adjacent to the Filter Feeder.

Filter Feeding: A Filter Feeding species gets 4 Population when foraging from
the Reef (or fewer if there are not 4 Population in the Reef). It cannot attack
other species (even if it is has the Apex Predator trait).

Parasitic: After your Play Cards phase and immediately before your Feeding
turn, a species with Parasitic may leech 2 Population (or 1 Population if there
is only 1 available) from the species to its left or right (depending upon the
direction of the arrow).This may only occur if the species that is being
leeched from has a larger Population than the species with the Parasitic
trait. This does not count as an attack . All of your species with Parasitic
are triggered at the same time.

Symbiotic: When the species to the left or right (depending upon the direction
of the arrow) of a Symbiotic species forages , the Symbiotic species gains 1
Population.

Tentacled: A species with Tentacled may feed an additional time ( forage or
attack ) for each copy of Tentacled. If the additional feeding is an attack
(and it made a previous attack on that Feeding turn), then the additional
attack must be on the same species as its previous attack , or a species
adjacent to that species.
Resolve all triggered traits from the initial feeding before starting an
additional feeding. Subsequent feedings will trigger traits a subsequent time.
Check for OverPopulation after each feeding. Your Feeding phase immediately
ends if the feeding species (the one with with Tentacles) loses Population
due to Overpopulation. OverPopulation from a different species (ei:one with
Bottom Feeding) does not end your turn. Your Feeding phase also ends if you
attack a species with Inking.
触手:

Attacking : During the feeding phase, a species may attack to get Population
from another players’ species board.

Ocean: The 4 Scenario cards are called the Ocean. The Ocean sits next to the
Reef on the table.

Extra Population: The Population tokens that are not in the Reef or the
Ocean. These tokens are only used on the last turn of the game.

Can a species technically be adjacent to itself if it is the only species in
play?
No.

Can a species attack another species if it will not get any Population?
No. The attacking species must be able to get at least 1 Population to be
allowed to make the attack .

When a Scenario Card is activated, does the rule immediately change in the
middle of a person’s turn?
Yes. Often, a Scenario Card will activate when people grab tokens from the
Ocean to satisfy a trait card that was triggered, or to fulfill an action. In
any event, people will finish grabbing what they needed to grab, and then the
Scenario Card immediately goes into effect.In other words,the effect becomes
active after everything triggered from the forage or attack action is resolved.
