大家好，我是今年要到 UC Santa Cruz 念社会学博士班的学生，
最近也在考虑健康保险的问题，想先分享我找到的资讯，也希望能获得相关建议。
UC 系统的学生健康保险 UC SHIP 今年涨价，Grad Student 一年要缴 3699 美元。
因为我还不能当学校的 TA，现在是拿台湾的公费，所以等于要自己支出这笔费用，
因此这几天也开始在考虑，是不是有可能保外面公司的健康保险，然后 waive UC SHIP。
我这几天开始找寻相关资料，看到很多和 ISO、PSI 类似的国际学生健康保险，
我整理了一下如下：

找到可能的替代保险不是最困难的，
最困难的可能是要如何保证可以通过学校的 waive 标准。
UCSC 的 Waive Criteria 写得很模糊，所以我已经写信去问，
不过大概是长这样 (我想其他 UC 学校可能也可以参考)：
在一份简报档 Health Insurance 101 里有提到：

You Can Waive If Your Plan…
* Covers hospitalization for medical, surgical, pregnancy and mental
health conditions
* Covers doctors office visits for medical and mental health conditions
* Covers prescribed medications
* Covers illness and injury caused by alcohol or drug use
* Covers services related to injuries from all recreational sports
* Has an Annual Deductible of less than $7,500 (unless you have a
Health Savings account with this deductible)
* For Medical and Mental Health Services, has co-insurance paid at 70%
or higher
* Does not have a pre-existing condition limitation
* Has repatriation coverage
另外，在学校的 Online Waiver 系统里有另一个档案，

不过这个档案里有超多问题，我实在不知道是不是要满足每个条件，
才能符合 Waive 的标准？
另外，还需要注意的是，如果拿 J1 签证，也需要满足美国政府的规定：

虽然目前我看起来，蛮多国际学生的健康保险都标榜他们已经满足 J1 Visa 的要求。
