导演的话 ｜ Director’s Statement
有很长一段的时间，我觉得自己是如此低微，在这个社会中毫无立足之地。
这或许是因为我的母亲是一名女同志，又或者是因为她隐忍于家暴，
也有可能是因为我与妹妹从未接受过常规的教育。
我曾经以为，那些伤痛只属于我们家，除了压抑，我们没有其他处理那些伤口的方式。
然而当我也成为人母，我才终于明白，倘若我无法面对自身的伤痛，
那伤口便永远也无法愈合，我恐怕也无法成为一个够好的母亲。
这部片不仅仅是一段疗伤的过程，我也想借由这个故事，
让那些同样被痛苦萦绕，不相信自己有发声权、认为自己不重要的朋友们，
能够有多些勇敢的可能。
For the longest time I used to think we did not matter;
for the longest time I used to think we were invisible;
for the longest time I used to think we had no place in society.
Whether it’s because my mother is a lesbian,
or because she quietly endured domestic abuse,
or because my sister and I never received proper education,
I always thought that our pain was our own,
and that we had to suppress that pain.
But once I became a mother, I realized that if I don’t face my pains,
I will never heal or be a good enough mother for my own daughter.
If I don’t heal,
the pain of my and my mother will be passed onto my daughter.
Not only do I want to tell this story in order that I can heal,
I also want to help shed light on the pain
that have haunted those who don’t believe they have a voice,
who don’t think they matter.
