这是第一次KAUST官方第一次正式访问台湾的大学。由学术副校长与三个来自台湾的教
授所组成的介绍访问团。根据2014年QS世界大学排名报告，KAUST的research record
(citation/faculty)是排世界第十二名， 国际化排名排世界第三名。

学校简介：
KAUST是沙特阿拉伯首所国际性科研大学。日前，前加州理工学院校长Jean-Lou
Chameau在全球众多校长竞聘中脱颖而出成为继施春风创校校长后的第二任校长。KAUST设
各种理工科系，并拥有世界顶尖的科研设备和雄厚的专案资金支持。该校目前向全球招收
研究生（硕士生和博士生）。KAUST 2009年9月正式成立，大学建校时的总资产是100亿美
元，是世界上仅次于哈佛受捐赠资金最多的大学，可见其办学之野心。
KAUST是目前世界上学术研究和论文被引用率增长最快的学术机构之一。2014年，根据QS
世界大学排名报告，KAUST的research record (citation/faculty)是排世界第十二名，
国际化排名排世界第三名。KAUST近期目标为：用11年时间 （2009-2020），在阿拉伯地
区，建立起一所世界排名前十的科技大学。
KAUST 是世界上录取率最低的大学之一，每年从5000~8000名申请者中遴选出200-250名来
自11个相关学科的学生。学校注重申请者的学术研究经历、研究兴趣点、大学阶段GPA、
GRE分数、目的陈述（SoP）等。由于KAUST是全英语教学，TOEFL成绩79分为最低要求，对
于大学期间GPA成绩没有申请最低要求，不过据招生部门近几年录取资料统计，本校录取
学生的平均学分绩点为3.7(3.7/4.0 .总分为4.0)。
全额奖学金：
KAUST为读于该校的优秀学生设置了全额奖学金，资助在该校学习期间的所有费用，包含
生活津贴(博士生每年3万美元,硕士生2万美元，免税)、全额学杂费、五星住宿，全额医
疗保险，每年回国来回机票, 小孩国际学校学费。招生类别为：硕士研究生、硕博连读
研究生或是博士研究生。申报者需须在研究及学术方面显示具有高度天分与领导才能。
讲者: Professor James Calvin/ 学术副校长
Professor James Calvin is Vice President for Academic Affairs at KAUST. He
began his relationship with the University as the Director of one of the
KAUST Global Research Partnership Research Centers, the Institute for Applied
Mathematics and Computational Science (IAMCS) at Texas A&M University.
Professor Calvin has since served as a Visiting Professor, Acting Associate
Provost and Acting Provost before taking on the role of Vice President for
Academic Affairs.
As Vice President for Academic Affairs, Professor Calvin is responsible for
the formulation of the University's educational strategies and standards and
for the advancement of a strong role for our Centers and core laboratories in
graduate education. His management responsibilities include Graduate Affairs,
Academic Affairs, Faculty Affairs, the University Library and International
Programs, and in this he represents KAUST's commitment to excellence in
graduate education.
An alumnus of the University of Oregon (B.S., Mathematics and Computer
Science) and Colorado State University (M.S. and Ph.D., Statistics),
Professor Calvin has been a member of the faculty at Texas A&M University for
the past 20 years, where he has served as a Professor Statistics, Head of the
Statistics Department, Executive Associate Vice President for Research and
Acting Vice President for Research before assuming the role of IAMCS
Director. His research emphasis has been on the development of general linear
models for correlated data and applications in the environmental and life
sciences.

Kuo-Wei Huang is currently SABIC Chair Associate Professor of Chemical
Sciences. He received his B.S. from National University of Taiwan in 1997 and
Ph.D. from Stanford University in 2004. Prior to joining KAUST in 2009 as a
founding faculty member, he had been Assistant Professor of Chemistry in
National University of Singapore (NUS) where he still maintains solid
collaborations. The research interests of his group include CO2 utilization,
carbonylation and decarbonylation, hydrogen storage, and kinetic and DFT
studies of transition metal and organocatalysis. He is a co-author of >100
peer-reviewed international publications and a co-inventor of 12 patents and
patent applications. He has received numerous awards, including Rising Stars
Lectureship, 41st International Conference on Coordination Chemistry (2014);
SABIC Chair Professorship (2013-2018); Asian Rising Stars Lectureship, the
15th Asian Chemical Congress (2013); RIKEN Visiting Fellowship (2012); Asian
Core Program Lectureship (2012); Certificate of Appreciation from King
Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity
(MAWHIBA) and Ministry of Education of Saudi Arabia (2011); UK-Singapore
Partners In Science Collaboration Development Award（2008); Gertrude and
Maurice Goldhaber Distinguished Fellowship (2004-2007); Regina Casper
Stanford Graduate Fellowship (2002-2004); Yuan T. Lee Fellowship (1993-1997).
He now also serves as an Associate Editor of Journal of Saudi Chemical
Society and a consultant and trainer for the Saudi Team for International
Chemistry Olympiad.

李连忠 (Lance Li) 博士目前在KAUST材料所担任副教授，李博士1997-2002年间任职台积
电，2006-2009曾任新加坡南洋理工大学材料学院助理教授，2010-2014年任职于中央研究
院。目前有185篇SCI期刊发表，SCI引用超过6000次，H-index 为42。李博士除了研究工
作之外, 更积极将技术导入产业, 目前也任职于一间新创公司之技术长。
李博士之研究以奈米碳材料 (碳管及石墨烯)及二维材料之基础研究及能源之应用为主，
目前的研究分为几个方向; (1) 前瞻性二维材料(MoS2, WSe2)之CVD成长及设备开发, 二
维材料之堆叠引发之新物理现象及性质 (2) 新型二维材料之活化研究, 目标是将海水分
解产生干净的氢能源, 将地球过剩的CO2 转换成所需的能源材料 (3) 下世代Li ,Na电池
之开发 (4) 未来电子 (5 nm 通道) 所需的新型二维薄层电晶体材料及元件。

何志浩(Jr-Hau He)教授目前在KAUST电机系担任副教授。曾于清华大学与乔治亚理工学院
担任博士后研究员(2005-2007)，台湾大学电机系暨光电所担任助理教授、副教授
(2007-2014)，乔治亚理工学院(2007)、加州大学柏克莱分校(2010,2014)、加州大学圣地
牙哥分校(2012) 、香港理工大学(2015)担任访问学者/教授。
何志浩之研究领域是太阳能电池（包含水分解的应用）、光侦测器、与发光二极管之光管
理， 神经形态工程(Neuromorphic engineering)，纸印刷电子学，可挠式/穿戴式电子元
件以及二维材料之光电元件与电晶体。何志浩教授在国际核心专业期刊发表约140篇，大
部分刊登在光电、电子、应用物理顶级专业刊物。发表论文已被SCI引用超过2300次，H
factor为28。获得9个期刊封面、超过40次的国际会议邀请报告、超过50次的国际新闻报
导也让何志浩团队的研究工作引起高度注目。何教授领导之研究团队也在专业学会与会议
得超过30个奖项，获得国际上的肯定。除了科学研究之外，何志浩教授对技术工业化相当
重视，积极参与产学合作、持续技术转移给工业界。个人曾获得吴大猷奖(2014) 、中国
电机工程学会优秀青年电机工程师奖 (2013)、台湾镀膜科技协会杰出青年奖(2012)、中
华民国光电学会第一届青年光电工程奖(2011)、台湾电子材料与元件协会杰出青年奖
(2011)、 Prof. Jiang Novel Materials Youth Prize of International Union of
Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) (2011)与潘文渊基金会考察研究奖(2008) 以及获
选为Member of the Global Young Academy (2011)。何志浩老师为IEEE, OSA and SPIE
