布鲁斯史普林斯汀抗议反同法 取消北卡演唱会
在美国北卡罗莱纳州颁布新法，废除对男女同性恋及跨性别人士的反歧视保护之后，摇
滚巨星布鲁斯．史普林斯汀(Bruce Springsteen)8日宣布，取消在北卡的演唱会。北卡的
反同志法案引发排山倒海的批评，包括美国职业篮球(NBA)发表谴责声明，以及旧金山市
长李孟贤(Edwin M.Lee)、纽约州州长古莫(Andrew Cuomo)和西雅图市长莫瑞(Ed Murray)
也都先后下达旅行禁令，禁止州政府员工花公帑到北卡旅游或出差，并建议取消非必要的
行程。
有“工人皇帝”美誉的史普林斯汀，8日在个人网页上发表声明说，他取消了原定
10日在北卡格林斯伯勒(Greensboro)的演唱会，因为北卡的反LGBT(女同志、男同志、双
性恋者及跨性别者)新法，拒绝维护这些少数族群的权益。
史普林斯汀表示，这项法令是那些无法容忍美国在认同所有公民人权上获得进展
的人们，想要试图推翻这项进展的作法。因此，他和东街乐团(E Street Band)必须声援
那些自由斗士，他们将取消在北卡的演唱会，至于已购票者将获得退款。
北卡议会是在上个月23日否决地方政府保护多元性别的法案，共和党籍的北卡州
长麦克罗利(Pat McCrory)也已签署法案。这项法案中包括要求学童如厕时必须使用符合
“生理性别”的厕所。这项决议是针对北卡最大的城市夏洛特市(Charlotte)而来。夏洛

A Statement from Bruce Springsteen on North Carolina

As you, my fans, know I’m scheduled to play in Greensboro, North Carolina
this Sunday. As we also know, North Carolina has just passed HB2, which the
media are referring to as the “bathroom” law. HB2 — known officially as
the Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act — dictates which bathrooms
transgender people are permitted to use. Just as important, the law also
attacks the rights of LGBT citizens to sue when their human rights are
violated in the workplace. No other group of North Carolinians faces such a
burden. To my mind, it’s an attempt by people who cannot stand the progress
our country has made in recognizing the human rights of all of our citizens
to overturn that progress. Right now, there are many groups, businesses, and
individuals in North Carolina working to oppose and overcome these negative
developments. Taking all of this into account, I feel that this is a time for
me and the band to show solidarity for those freedom fighters. As a result,
and with deepest apologies to our dedicated fans in Greensboro, we have
canceled our show scheduled for Sunday, April 10th. Some things are more
important than a rock show and this fight against prejudice and bigotry —
which is happening as I write — is one of them. It is the strongest means I
have for raising my voice in opposition to those who continue to push us
backwards instead of forwards.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s Sunday April 10th show is
canceled. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.
